Zach glides over to her, carrying takeout. The best sushi in the city, vegetarian for Raven, standard for him. "Hello beautiful." He kisses her cheek.

She blushes a little and settles by him. "Hello." They see what they can of each other. Her work here and his work on the road makes these times special and rare. Zachery's letters, always hand-written, are a blessing to her. His moods are so consistent and focused, such absences do not affect them very much. Her cloak moves back in one swift motion.

He smiles, more than a little content to still be able to make her blush. She always makes him feel wanted, and he certainly hopes he's doing the same. True, he's not the most constant presence in this branch of the Titans franchise, but he's grown more comfortable with the place than he'd admit. Raven plays no small part in that.

"Have you been waiting long? I got a little tied up when some people wanted autographs while I was picking up dinner."

She looks up. "I must have been," she notes the color of the sky, shifting to a bright, but cold, blue. "I came up here at sunrise. I was watching people."

She kisses him lightly on the cheek. "Then your efforts are bearing fruit. I am glad for you."

If it would not harm them both, she would call Jericho. Koriand'r and Donna's words would not bring her comfort. For the first time in nearly a decade, she wishes that her mother were here to offer guidance. They were never close. They could never be. It would have been dangerous to them both, but there was love between them and understanding.

She tries to slow her breathing...expel the shame and fear from her... cultivate loneliness.

The story of her conception wasn't a new one. She had recited it many times - and each time she did she felt the roaring echo of the deadened scorn and diffused fear of her people and sharp feelings of violation her mother had come to Azarath's bosom to attempt to expel, just as she now focused on her own emotions.

Had her own father lost control as she did? Did her vile doppelganger ravage others as she had? More? Illness swept over her once again as she again forced calm on herself.

Azar, she pleaded to a goddess long gone. Azar, what have I done?

Eddie knocks on the wall.

"Hey Raven. You okay?" He asks. She looked like she could use someone to talk to.

She opens her eyes and looks at him. Calm is obviously still eluding her.

"How is Zachery?"

"Oh, I haven't really been able to talk to him just yet, but I think he's doing okay." Eddie says as he walks over to sit near Raven, pulling his knees to his chest.

"So, uh, what happened?"
