The offices of Pleco Toys, makers of the Incarcipals, look perfectly normal today, despite the fact that the city of Metropolis has already been attacked by both a giant dopey Superman Incarcipal doll, attacking the jail, and a giant purple dinosaur Parasite Incarcipal doll, which attacked the power plant ( Read more... )

Some quick research work at the Planet helped him to find the maker of the dolls. So Superman heads across town and uses combinations of his x-ray and telescopic vision to help get an advance scouting of what is waiting for him there.

Superspeed is a wonderful thing when you decide to take a spur of the moment shopping trip into Metropolis. Which was exactly what Karen Starr decided to do that day.

She was just about to hit a sale at one of her favorite department stores, when she caught notice of the Man of Steel flying overhead. Grinning, Karen quickly dashed down an alleyway, changing into her Power Girl costume. In a matter of seconds, she was flying alongside Superman.

"Need a hand?"

The walls of the building are lead-lined, preventing Superman's x-ray vision.

Someone knew what they were doing here.

A bald head abruptly appears over Karen's shoulder.

"Wassamatter, Superman? Don't think you can handle this on your own? Think you need these three to help out?" A disembodied thumb appears, jerking towards Power Girl and her chest.

An army of toy soldiers that could protect from Superman, but Lois wasn't Superman. She was just his wife. By now she would have thought supervillains and various other baddies would have figured something out seeing how she liked to show up for the story and ended up otherwise involved, but it hadn't happened. What also hadn't happened was Clark figuring out that Lois never managed to sit down and just write the story ( ... )

The general looks at Lois, then silently steps out of the way, letting her pass.

With a nod, she passed through the door and took a deep breath as she saw him--whoever he was--sitting behind the desk. The plastic shell, it was creepy and she felt a slight chill in her bones but sometimes, you have to take a chance.

"Sir?" She took on the posture of a frightened assistant.

"Superman is coming. What do you need me to do?" Her eyes fell on the manifest. "I have a shredder at the desk. I can shred it and then burn it in the incinerator for you...so he can't have it."

Toyman rocks back and forth, muttering over and over to himself, muttering, "There is no fourth doll. There is no fourth doll. There is no fourth doll. There is no fourth doll."

His voice might sound familiar to Lois -- despite the new mask, his voice sounds much like Winslow Schlott, the Toyman believed to be dead for several years now.

He reaches for the manifest, still babbling to himself.

Back in his room in Smallville, Conner's cellphone is going off.

Man, was he glad that he'd gotten some clothes and that stuff with Mxy was over.

"What's up, Lois?"

"I need you to either pick me up and take me to or meet me at the Spilokopa Corporation. And yes, Superman knows. I just sent you a text with details. Mxy's up to tricks again and my darling thinks I need backup. You game?"
