A Lazy Texas Day

Jaime looked around the new base the Titans South had procured. Weekends were the best part of the week now, being able to hang around the base with all the other Titans South members. Well, and Brenda and Paco too, of course.

Jaime reached into the fridge and grabbed himself a Soder cola. Time to walk around the base and what everyone was up to.

As he reaches into the fridge, he sees Gear's head behind the sodas.

"Ai!" Jaime is startled as all hell when he sees Gear's head. When he realizes Gear is alive, he's... less startled, but still up there.

"Gear, what're you doing in there?"

Gear looks up. His head, it turns out, is connected to his shoulders, poking through from behind the fridge.

"What? Oh, hey, Jaime. I was looking to see if I could install a self-organizing system in the fridge. Tell the fridge what you want, and it'll move it to the front for you." He pulls his head back out of the fridge, replacing the back unit, and steps out from behind the unit. "I was thinking the fridge can get pretty full of leftovers and sodas and condiments."

"Ah. Well then... That'd actually be very useful. Care to demonstrate Gear?"

Jaime takes a step back. The man makes weapons; Jaime is not yet ready to try his fridge organizer.

Virgil was in the middle of of target practice. Namely in-flight target practice against moving targets.

Mia's there as well, firing off shots flawlessly. "Not a bad shot, lightning bug." She smirks at him.

"Although you don't need a full-on lightning strike for skeet shooting. Dinah'd have a fit about over-exertion."

Jaime looked at the two doing target practice.

"Hey, you two ready for a break?" He yelled, hoping the two would hear him. He looks at Mia and motions to the closed Soder in his hand.

"Sure. What've you got in mind Jaime?" Virgil asks.

Lorena stood outside the doorstep at the Titans South base, twiddling her thumbs a bit. There was a knot in the pit of her stomach about the size of Alaska and she couldn't get rid of it for the life of her.

Maybe it was that Arthur was gone. Maybe it was from moping around, just waiting for him to come back, even though right about now, she was pretty sure that the chances of that happening were few.

Garth was gone. Arthur was gone. While she didn't know Garth as well as she would have liked to, Arthur was all she had. Her family was gone, lost in the San Diego earthquake that ulitimately caused her to become Aquagirl.

Lorena shook her head. No more moping. She'd heard about a new team of Teen Titans forming up, and she was here to see about joining them, not mope around goddamnit.

Inhaling, Lorena pressed the call button on the door.

A hologram appears next to her, appearing as a semi-transparent young man wearing a faceplate.

"Hello?" the hologram asks.

"Hey there youself," Lorena said, giving the hologram a small salute and a grin. "This Titans South HQ?"

[gear_parts]

"It is!" he replies. "And you are...?"

[trigon_jr]

Eddie is strolling through the HQ, listening to his black iPod with the custom flame pattern. It's on full volume so he can't hear anything, and he's not really paying attention to much else that's going on. It's hard to when listening to "Deadly Sinners." The fast version.

"Eddie. Eddie! EDDIE!"

Paco catches up and knocks Eddie in the shoulder. "Kksht, this is Austin calling Captain Oblivious, do you read?"

Eddie lets out a shrill of shock as he jumps a few inches and pulls the buds out of his ears.

"Ah! Paco, don't scare me like that." Eddie breathes slowly as he gets his body temperature to cool back down.

Ow. Paco sticks his pinkie finger in his ear and wiggles it around.

"Can do. Anyway, we're doing a team-bonding gaming session, you want in?"
