The one time king of Atlantis was ushered into an area along with Garth. Their hands had been bound until they reached the arena. Once there, their restraints had been removed and they were each given a short sword and a shield

Garth sighs. This is the third time they've done this -- once, when Arthur Jr. was murdered; once, when Garth himself was mind-controlled by Black Manta. And now, again. It's like every villain's favorite scheme.
"I'm not sure why I bother asking anymore..." he mutters.
Tula and Lorena hadn't fought back when their captors cuffed them and tossed them into a cell. They hadn't caused one bit of trouble -- they hadn't even shared any whispered conferences within the cell, the two guards standing outside would have heard them if they had. It's almost disappointing.
Four more Atlantean soldiers swim down the corridor to the cell where the women are waiting, to retrieve them on Oceanus' orders. They're confident that they'll be more than enough to keep a handle on their captives.
"All right ladies, show--"
"NOW!"
Tula and Lorena slam the door open the moment the key finishes turning in the lock, sending one of the guards flying backward into the wall. They're out in the corridor and attacking in a fury before any of the others can react.
They're not surrounded anymore, and while the manacles on their wrists do keep them from swimming too far too fast, they're also very helpful when it comes to clubbing other people.
Amazing how much planning you can do with hand gestures, isn't it?
No, Lorena is not happy at all. She's nearly snarling as she fights her way with Tula through the guards. One guard gets thrown into a wall, another gets kicked squarely in the jaw.
Bash 'em and smash 'em was the perfect plan, in this case.
Tula takes on two more, not even bothering with her stasis field -- she doesn't expect this fight to last long enough for it to be of use anyway. One of them gets a boot to the sternum that she knows damn well he'll be able to feel through the armor, and while he's trying to suck the water back into his lungs, his buddy is learning a similar lesson about his helmet and Tula's fists. Tula raps the other one on the head too for good measure, in case he's too stupid to stay down.
"You got those two covered, Aqua--"
Wait. Lorena's got two, she's done two, and they got one with the door...
Tula's head snaps up to see the last of the guards swimming as fast as he can to call for reinforcements and she swears. "He's getting away!"
Before the guard can get much farther at all, a shaggy-looking figure in well-worn clothes darts out from behind a corner and tackles the guard to the floor. After a moment's wrestling, he straddles the guard's chest and holds his hand over the downed man's mouth.
"Shh. Uh. Just. Just stay down, man, okay?" He offered the guard a hopeful kind of smile as if to imply that it was all going to work out.
In the arena the fight between Arthur and Garth goes on. They were supposed to be putting a good show for the gathered residents of Atlantis, but it had gone beyond that. Punches were not pulled and both men were now bruised and bloodied. Years of bad blood between them had turned the fight ugly.
Above them Oceanus and Tethys watched with satisfaction. Two former kings battling it out in the arena was a sight to see.
Oceanus doesn't even rise from his throne. "Fool." The water surrounding Arthur becomes think and heavy and nearly devoid of oxygen. Water become viscous and sticks to his skin. It's like being dropped into a vat of mud or molasses.
Less than a minute ago, Garth was willing to kill Arthur if he had to. He even almost forgot what they were fighting about. He gave so easily into anger and rage because of all the anger he's kept inside for so long towards Arthur, and all the brakes were finally removed.
But now... with Tula there... he remembers what he's supposed to be doing.
"I don't think so, Oceanus," Garth replies, using his magic to unweave Oceanus's magic. Yes, Oceanus is a god, but Garth is destined to be the protector of the oceans, bestowed on him by Atlan himself. At the very least, Oceanus can't be quite so casual about it anymore.
Dolphin is a lot tougher than the guards have been, but she's stopping Tula from getting Garth to safety. She also apparently hasn't learned the lesson Tula learned back when she was fourteen about long hair in a fight. Tula grabs a handful of the swirling white mass and uses it to slam Dolphin's head against the nearest solid object.
Dolphin's face is a bloody mess as she slumps unconscious in Tula's grip. She was, however, not exaggerating about the damage she did to her husband. The only reason Sharks have not appeared has been the trembling of the Earth around them.

One of them leans slightly toward his partner.
"Shouldn't the others be here with the women by now?"

"Leave him with me," she demands. "What use is freedom if he's dead?"

They need to get out of here.
They can leave. Lorena's not leaving, though. Not without Arthur...who she didn't see get swallowed by the earth mere moments ago.
"ARTHUR!?" Damnit it all to hell. "ARTHUR?!"
