I now have the urge to ask you to do wedding photos. I still don't think Wade has talked to a photographer yet.

Kat, this is why you need to pursue Photography, even if your mom doesn't want you to. If it helps her, you could always double-major or even have a minor for now in something that she would view as a fall-back option to make her feel better (plus then you've got a fall-back, which never hurts).
