Public Call and Yuletide updates

Dec 03, 2016 17:56

Public Call has started posting stories, and I am discovering the benefit of a low number of participants: there is an almost 50% chance that the story for me will be revealed next week! There is also an almost 50% chance that the story I wrote will be revealed next week. There is around a 75% chance that at least one of these two will be ( Read more... )

I've been hating the wait for my story to be revealed - it's felt like forever. And then it'll be another forever until I can post it anywhere else.

But at least I got lucky and mine was posted! (even though it was frustratingly at a time that meant I didn't have time to read it for two days)

It does feel like forever, yes! Although last year I posted my Yuletide fic on Nov. 30th and almost a month to wait, so this is better.

I'm glad you mentioned the posting rule, as I hadn't noticed that. I'd assumed that it was okay to post elsewhere once the fic was revealed.

And yes, I saw that your gift was the second one to be revealed, lucky you! But yes, the random timing means you can't plan for it, and you don't even get a notification to remind you to go look.

Both might happen! And, yay, have fun! Good luck with your Yule treat, too. Or NYR treat, or whatever it turns out to be. ;-)

Your evil laugh at the deadline was very impressive. (I, too, can laugh at the deadline, although not so evilly, as my fic finally lay down its fight to be the longest thing ever and I have posted it.)

Oh, well done on posting your fic! You are triumphant over the forces of multiplying word count!

Hey - you're going to get feedback AND a story! That's a 'why not both?' moment if there's every been one.

Well, I just got one of them -- the fic I wrote was revealed today! http://public-call.livejournal.com/41916.html

So, it's feedback first!
