Yoochun’s favorite movie is “The Wizard of Oz.” In America, he skips his morning lessons and hangs out on the rooftop of his school, letting the sunlight heat up his skin as he squints his eyes at a blue sky and wishes for tornado-induced clouds to take him away. He’s not Dorothy and he doesn’t have ruby red slippers. All he has is cold ramen for dinner, an exhausted single mother taking care of two growing boys, and a language he’s still stuttering over. But Yoochun has a Voice and when he sings, it feels like running back home again.
