"Could we get two black and white milkshakes?" Her smile at Mulder's baffled expression is brilliant. "In honor of my world view," she explains when the drinks arrive.
This is so Scully in one of her lighter moments. I always felt that she never wanted to be the one to shoot Mulder's ideas down, but did so out of her own internal integrity. And this story shows that and reflects Mulder's inherent understanding of it.
Just like in his dream, except this is real and she tastes like coffee and Chapstick - bitter, sweet and perfect.
This just killed me. Such a fantastic line and so them. Just lovely!

:: nods :: In a way, she's doing Mulder a favor by being the voice of reason so that Mulder can fly his freak flag freely, if you know what I mean. This story was a reward for both of them (in my own head). Mulder got to see his X-File and Scully got to believe in some wackiness without nagging doubts.
Thanks again for the very kind note.

Peeling off his pants, Mulder steps into the shower and promises himself that one day he'll stop being such a loser, with nothing but dreams to show for a lifetime of wishing.
This line touched my heart for Mulder. Such a brilliant guy, but you wouldn't realize it until you got to know him and gained his trust.
This fic was wonderful - I love how it moved through time with Mulder and Scully together away from work. I also feel that even though Mulder believes in the unbelievable, it mirrors Scully's own belief in the truth of that which is intangible.
Thank you

"Maybe we should head back to the car," he says. "Dusk is when the bat people come out."

My favorite line by far:
She's Action Scully at last, ready to debunk him, her mind faster than a speeding bullet, able to leap tall tales in a single bound.
So true! And of course that's how Mulder sees her. Ah, Mulder and Scully. So much love.
