Steve frowned a little as he pushed the door to Tony’s lab open. It was quieter than it probably should have been, even for 3 o’clock in the morning. “Tony?”
He didn’t get an answer and started carefully making his way through tech and mechanical devices he didn’t even want to ask about. It didn’t take long to find his target.
Tony had his head down on the work bench, breathing steadily, eyes closed and seemingly quiet content to be drooling a little on his paperwork. Steve smiled and considered for a moment leaving the other man be, but the pain Tony would have in his neck the pain next morning, and the complaining that would go with it weren’t worth it. “Tony?” He rested a hand on Tony’s shoulder for a moment before he started to stir.
“Couple minutes… just…” His mouth opened wide as he yawned. “Just resting my… eyes. I’ll be up…”
“Come upstairs, Tony.” Steve leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to Tony’s temple.
Tony blinked up at him for a moment. “Bed?”
“Yeah.”
“With you?”
Steve laughed. “Of course.”
“Okay.” Tony sighed heavily and pulled himself up just long enough to get closer to Steve and lean his weight against him. Steve wasn’t quite carrying him, but it was close enough.
Tony’s head hit the pillow and he faded fast. As Steve tucked in next to him, Tony’s eyes flickered open. “Why’d you come down?”
“To get you.”
“Oh.” Tony yawned again and cuddled closer. “Steve?”
“Yeah?”
“Love you.”
Steve smiled and pulled Tony closer. “I love you too.”
