My realtor, who was the same one who landed me my apartment last year and not amongst the realtors I listed in my last entry, found a couple of cute house-like units in yet another "historic district". That first apartment would pretty much be a lock if it weren't for the application fee. Seriously, what the hell does anyone need $150 to fill out a piece of paper for? I'd rather have laundry in my unit too, but I'm barely working and beggars can't be choosers, ya know? :/

I love San Francisco, but yeah, the rent is the main reason I would never live there. Well, that and the cold. Good luck on your path!

I still have one more day to think about it, plus I do want to ask my realtor about the trash and parking sitches with #2. Crossing my fingers that I pick the right place.

I think the $200 pet deposit and $150 application fee would get you many a load of coin operated laundry! Unless the fitness room is really important to you, the second place sounds pretty cool

It's convenient, but it's not. Most little fitness rooms kind of blow anyway. The pool, that's a different story. But while that's a luxury I really want, it's not a dealbreaker.

I may put in a fairly low bid on the second place. If they jump (and it's been on the market long enough, so it's likely), it will probably end up being the one I take.
