I was up way too late last night. Somehow I got on the topic of languages and was looking at the site about Koko the gorilla who learned sign language. I was reading a transcript of an AOL chat she had with people. Penny(her caretaker) was asking the questions to her. Koko is very creative with language. Her word for people is "nipple" lol, and ( Read more... )

cool, do you have the site.

What caught my eye was that it said on the back that it was "an epic fantasy complete in one volume." Anyone that complete an epic fantasy in one novel is A-ok in my book. :)

sounds interesting. I will have to read it. Any whales in this book, i wonder. Did you know that LOTR was orginally going to be one book but Tolkien's publisher made him split it into three books.

One of them was Stravinski.

yes, I know Stravinski from the firebird stuite. I really do not own many CDs. what were some of the other CDs you bought ?

Here's the site for Koko the gorilla http://www.koko.org/index.php

I don't think there are any whales in the book, lol. Yeah I know LOTR was supposed to be one book. My copy of it has all three in one book.

Some other CDs we got were this Celtic CD and the other was a guitar collection, called Flamenco.

As I sure you know, but most people won't, the title of your book is likely an allsuion to the story of Job in the bible. Now that I think about it more, I believe that it was Jonah who was swallowed by a whale not Job.

My copy of it has all three in one book.

Neat, How did they combine the stories together when they were all one book especially in what we call the Two Towers where the stories of Frodo and Sam were seperated from the stories of Pipin and Merry (sorry can't remember right now if these are the correct names of the other two hobbits).

and the other was a guitar collection, called Flamenco.

I assume from the title that it was flamenco music. I like Flamenco music. Have you heard of Jesse Cook. He does modern flamenco.

Yes, it is an allusion to Job, but I haven't really read much from the Bible. :P

Well the stories are still separated, they're just all in one book. Like an omnibus.

Never heard of Jesse Cook.
