It's almost as good as the one comparing rap and Greek poetry.

Um.

Can I have the citation for that article? 'Cause I want to read it.

Woyzeck is an extremely interesting play. Has it been translated? I've only read it (and performed in it) auf Deutsch.

You need to learn German, and I need to learn Greek and Latin. Too bad Rutgers isn't closer to PSU. :D

It's definitely been translated into English, but that's the way I read it! It was an interesting copy (why did I sell it back?!) because it had the fragments organized in two or three different ways, since there's no definitive order, to give you an idea of how things change depending on what comes first, etc.

OMG. I did a search for the specific article just now... and TWO citations came up. The first (ie. the one I originally saw) is "Woyzeck and Othello: Dimensions of Melodrama" by Terry Otten [Comparative Drama, 1978, Volume 12]. THE SECOND is "Influences of Othello on Buchner's Woyzeck" by Joseph Stodder [Modern Language Review, 1974, Volume 69]. Critical response, methinks?

The best advice I can give you is, your thesis is only as good as your advisor and the assistance he/she can lend to your topic. So, uh, pick a better advisor than I did.
