Um, this is a total placeholder comment, because seriously, I AM STILL PRETTY DESTROYED BY ALL THIS, omg. But:

All Viv wants to do is confess - and Gene would have let him confess, but Keats got there first. Keats stole his soul, and all Gene could do was redeem Viv with hollow words to the people left. Which is - fine, and great. But no more Viv. Ever. Whatever version of Elysian Fields exist, there is no Viv there.

SOB. I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID ABOUT JIM BEING NOT-EVIL. MAYBE. Because--I guess you could make the case that Gene took Viv's confession over the radio? But maybe that doesn't count. I don't know.

(The image of Gene stomping into the prison with the riot police et al behind him? Please tell me someone else flashed on similar scenes from Rome. OH MY GOSH IT WAS A PHALANX BEHIND THEIR GENERAL)

That, backed by "Sunday, Bloody Sunday"? That was hot. That was, in all seriousness, really fucking hot.

MY BRAIN IS BROKEN.

Viv was straight up, honest to God TERRIFIED OF KEATS in that moment. Which - does that mean Keats is EVIL (maybe), or does that just mean that Viv knew he was meeting his maker after what he had done (instead of meeting his possible redeemer) (ALSO A MAYBE)? I DON'T KNOW. THAT'S WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT IT.

I so desperately want to rewatch Life on Mars, both series, sometime in the next two weeks (gosh knows when I'll get THAT TIME) because - this was the most violent we've ever seen Gene since then? Really and truly? I think that's supposed to mean something?

I WISH YOUR BRAIN MUCH HEALING. This episode made me positively giddy.

really is Virgil + Plato + some Bibles for shits and giggles, isn't it?

YYYYYYUP. (I just really like typing that out now. It's all Archer's fault.

I do believe Gene Hunt "killed" Sam, but I also firmly believe that that verb is the gloss on the subject.

I've thought this from the word go and I find it strange that many a people don't...get this?

They're (you know, people) are also saying ghost cop is not Gene because there was a picture of himself in his desk liek omg who does that, and also he's not tall enough? o_0

I feel like there's a fundamental lack of understanding of television running rampant in this fandom always.

Also, epic show is made of epic and things and stuff. I just like, don't even know how to type words, I just want to see that last two and go, ah YES. WELL, PLAYED, SHOW, WELL PLAYED. And the go cry in a corner or something.

Some stuff Sham!Tyler was saying, oooh, the forgetting, and, other stuff, the not real bidness and oh, what in the universe. This episode.

i think you are on to something. i hope you are on to something?

that was no sam tyler. i thought maybe he was another time traveller for a minute, but he was never sam.

AHHHHHHHHH keats when did you get extra double plus terrifying with sinister sprinkles? i wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt and then you destoyed that doubt with your cold eyes of evil and your soul stealing bare hands.

also also, have you been reading the keats letters on the bbc page? keats' boss is called nick, ray's middle name is milton, so Virgil + Plato + some Bibles for shits and giggles HELL YES.

SO MANY FEELINGS. BLACK and WHITE you guys.

roman general u2 theme tune gene was super sexy, but non-bloodied dead!cop is really cute. i want all the genes ever.
