Let's not even get into that whole "back again in September" crap you're pulling.

Some of this was the most horrific thing I've ever seen on tv. SERIOUSLY. We put on subtitles and turned off the sound for parts of it.

On the other hand, both my sister and I are convinced that James was especially upset by the whole thing because of a ~personal connection~ to Alesha. So there's that, too.

On a completely different note: it was really obvious this week that the show's made by the people who make Spooks. Familiar landmarks from familiar angles!

There was a serious amount of hiding-behind-the-pillow going on, let me tell you. (At least I had the benefit of reading the summary as I was downloading, so I could at least prepare myself. Which, ~hilarious~ story: tv.com had this listed as being called "Trust," and when I went to acquire it, saw that it was actually called "Alesha" and thought "OH GOOD GOD. THAT IS NOT GOOD SIGN.")

James' quiet, fuming reaction to all of this convinces me that it was personal - and NOT, like, "you hurt someone I work with" personal - if only because it was such a contrast to Matt's almost over-the-top "BUT THIS IS ALESHA, YOU GUYS, DID YOU KNOW THIS IS ALESHA?" reaction. His face the entire time. HE LIKES HER. HE LIKES HER A LOT AND IT KILLS HIM INSIDE THAT SHE IS IN PAIN. :(

(Dear Show, what the hell, you hook me like this and then abandon me for five months? NOT COOL. You're are really lucky that your friends are dangling Ashes to Ashes in front of me as a shiny distraction, because otherwise I'd be REALLY PISSED ( ... )

This damn episode kind of kept me awake half the night because I couldn't get it out of my brain. However, I kind of thought it was amazing (if amazingly awfully horribly counts as amazing). And yes, James/Alesha was just... obvious.

I kind of felt sorry for Matt. He tried so hard but just didn't know what to say and Alesha didn't even seem interested in him helping her.

Yes. YES. THIS. It didn't feel exploitative, or gratuitous, anymore than it was intended. Will it be one I will watch again? UH MOST LIKELY NOT.

Matt Devlin, you're adorable, but you are no Mike Logan, sir! And I did feel bad for him. I think his boss and his partner felt bad for him, too, because even they could see how much of a lost cause his crush is. (I'm actually how amazed at the sheer... blatancy [that's a word, right?] of James/Alesha. Good Lord.)

UH, SO I JUST SAW THIS, and now I'm half COMPLETELY TRAUMATIZED, and half blown away by the James/Alesha.

MAN, that was awful. I mean, really good, and I'm totally pissed off that I have to wait until September for more of my six-person British crime-fighting team of awesome, but...UGH.

I HAVE DECIDED that the next episode involves James cooking Alesha dinner, and she's all, "You know, I can cook my own food," and basically he's doing this in order to force her back to work, and OH MY GOD SERIOUSLY, HOW BLATANT AND BASICALLY CANON IS JAMES/ALESHA. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.

Unrelated and yet not: I - am - writing an epic Connie/Mike thing. Please see this next week.

Dear SVU,

This is how you do it. CHRIST.
