Ghost tried to lead his human, Jon Snow, into the forest. Jon wasn't having much of a walk into the cold winter night. Most of the time, Ghost would just give up and go off into the forest to hunt for his dinner.
Jon hadn't heard anything from his father - Ned Stark, the King's hand - in a while. Not that Jon thought he would, since he had taken the black. Ned, Arya and Sansa went ahead of Lady Stark to King's Landing.
Ghost liked it up there at the wall, with the brothers. Not that anyone was going to ask a direwolf.
