Oh perfect! Yay for more AU fic in the world :)

I loved this, Kingsley so determined to set things right and in a proper organised way, they couldn't have picked a better Minister.

I love the idea that they will stay with Andromeda, it's like the meer fact that they can have their own home is enough, it then allows them to see where their home really is and what's really important. I wouldn't want them to leave Andromeda either, she's been through so much to take Tonks and Teddy from her seems cruel (I'm struggling with that for my own AU at the moment, can't decide what to do).

Lovely fic has brightened up what is a dull and rainy Monday :)

I totally agree about Kingsley -- he's just the one they need to have running things.

it's like the meer fact that they can have their own home is enough

That's exactly what I was thinking with this! :) (And my AU fics set further in the future still have them all living with Andromeda, so I needed a reason for that, heh.)

Thanks so much for your comments.

Aw, I really love this. It's so Remus for it to be enough for them to be allowed to have a home, but be willing to stay with Andromeda for her own well being. (And who knows, maybe one of these days she'll meet a nice wizard of a certain age and she'll want the place to herself again...)

Also really like all the little tentative looks that pass between Remus and Tonks--like they barely ever dared to hope that winning the war might actually mean things would be different. They never counted on Kingsley being Minister, did they? ;)

Well done!

I think Remus is also remembering times in his life when he's been lonely, and thinking that he wouldn't wish that on Andromeda. And what ate at him the most was worrying that she thought he wasn't good enough for her daughter, so if that's changed -- and it has, especially considering Andromeda's overture in "Porridge" -- then he's feeling better about the whole situation. (Not that I could get this into my 1000 words, lol!)

And I think this Remus and Tonks barely dared imagine they would make it out of the war (*cough*), let alone that things might get better.

Thanks so much for your comments! :)

I'd vote for Kingsley!

And of course Remus would be someone who understood the fear of being left all alone, and so offer to stay with Andromeda. Really lovely ficlet.

LOL -- I'd vote for him too.

I just see Remus and Andromeda as being a little bit alike; I think that they might understand each other well once they really started trying.

Thanks for your kind comments! :)

Your stories always make me feel that's exactly what the characters would do and say in a given situation. Remus may start off dreaming of a home of their own, see the opportunity for just that, and yet he and Tonks still recognise that some things - and some people - are more important. Of course he'd know exactly what loneliness is like and what Andromeda was feeling at the prospect.

I'm loving the idea of Kingsley surrounded by bodyguards as befits his all-important new status, and Dora still rushing to give him a hug as befits her old colleague and friend. And how great that he's planning to get things moving right away in a few important areas. That seems perfect for what we know of him as well. :)

I do think Kingsley would make a wonderful Minister, and have the right priorities for what to get done.

And I think eventually in this timeline, Remus and Andromeda come to be very fond of one another -- Remus realizing he understands her a little here may be something of a start!
