“Oh, sorry. Should we come back later or something?”
“Hi Jenna”, Sian greeted welcomingly but slightly embarrassed. I simply bowed my head and tucked my hands in my pockets as I ran my tongue over my lips repeatedly while trying to hide a mischievous smile at the same time.
“Nice to see you again Sian, Sophie”, she kindly acknowledged me with a knowing smile.
“Hey Jenna”, I finally perked up, lifting my head slightly but not making too much eye contact for I could feel a burning set of eyes on me already.
“See you’re making a miraculous recovery then”, she commented sarcastically with a smile.
“Yea, walking an’all I see”, Dylan chipped in, not looking very pleased however.
I actually felt like I was back at home, with Sian repeating my own words back to me, Dylan giving me a fatherly look....I have never been happier.
“I ummm .... Sian was .... encouraging me.....to walk.....to her?”, I stuttered, looking around and frowning at myself. If I already hadn’t got an injured leg, I would certainly have one now. FROM KICKING MYSELF!
“Ohh I bet she was”, Jenna teased, showing the most obvious wink, not even attempting to hid the fact of the situation we had right in front of us. Most normal people would have tried to steer around it but not this girl....
“Yes, well, now we all seem to be fine, let’s get the breakfast on shall we?!” Dylan hurried along.
I lifted my arm around Sian’s neck and without even telling her, she knew that she needed to lead me back to the sofa.
“Soo urrr Jenna, how have you been?” Sian beamed, desperately trying to make things normal. Not that they weren’t. Just....slightly out of the blue I guess you could say.
“Ohh you know, this and that”, she smiled, shrugging, looking at the both of us from the other chair, not taking her eyes off us once.
“Dylan!” I suddenly shouted without warning. “What are you making us?”
“The normal breakfast things!” he shouted back bluntly. “Can’t do anything too fancy, I’ve gotta go to college!”
“Oh shit, I never even thought about college”, I stated in slight panic.
“I managed to get a bit of time off work but I’m going as soon as you go back to college Soph. Which you should do soon”, Sian smiled. “That and the fact that I can’t have too much time off”, she gritted her teeth.
“Ohh so you’re on a nickname basis now huh? Must be getting serious”, Dylan commented from the kitchen. He didn’t shout it out but he didn’t exactly try to be discreet about it either.
“Dylan....”, Jenna warned.
“Thanks Sian”, I smiled admirably.
“You should get back to college as soon as you can though Sophie, it will do you good. It will do you all good get back to normal lives.”
“What are you, some kind of therapist now or something Jen?” Dylan turned round and shrugged.
“Dylan, what’s got into you?” I asked with a frown.
“Nothing, I’ve gotta get going”, he mumbled as he grabbed his jacket and sped out through the door.
“Did he just....?” Jenna pointed.
“Go out in his pyjamas?” Sian continued.
“Yep,” I finished.
Jenna, Sian and I talked for pretty much the entire day. I reckon Jenna wanted to see if Dylan got back alright as well but we seemed to get along like three best friends.
I say seem but I guess we kinda are.....
We all talked about everything and anything, from having a laugh to going to serious in dept convocation and back again. Time seemed to really get the better of us and before we knew it, it was evening and the dark was starting to take over.
“Oh my gosh, I’ve really outstayed my welcome. Sorry guys, I better get going”, Jenna hurried, wrapping her long handed bag over her shoulder.
“What? What time is it?” I asked, looking around at anything and everyone.
“It’s pretty much 6 Soph”, Sian said cautiously.
“And Dylan still isn’t back?!” my eyes popped.
*BANG*
The three of our heads turned to the door as we heard a rustling sound of someone walking and soon enough, Dylan appeared sheepishly in the door way, slightly out of breath and rosy cheeked. All heads were turned in his direction as we all shared the same disappointed look.
“Where have you been?” I blurted out.
Dylan looked at Jenna and then Sian as I heard sniggered from behind me and then to the side of me. I looked round, offended by the lack of seriousness I was trying to install.
“What?!” I demanded.
“Nothing, nothing babe, you just...”, Sian started but was stopped by her outburst of laughter along with a slight spray of her spit.
“You just sounded funny when you said that is all Soph”, Jenna continued through her giggles.
“Kinda reminded me of someone though, don’t you think?” Sian enquired.
“Ummm oh yea”, Dylan pondered. “MRS. WEASLEY!!”
As soon as he said this, all three were hysterical. I, on the other hand, was not impressed. I was going to get up and leave the situation until Dylan stopped me.
“Oh no you don’t missy, you’ve gotta rest you poorly ankle”, he ordered, almost forgetting myself that I was pretty much incapable of walking.
I did as I was told but crossed my arms and pulled a face.
“Oh c’mon Soph, don’t sulk now”, Jenna encouraged, pulling a face of her own.
“I’m not sulking”, I mumbled.
“Well I’m sure if someone gives us a small smile, there’ll be a sweetie in there, sweetie”, Sian mocked, growing in pitch.
I looked at her and bit my lip while closing my eyes, trying not to laugh but it was no use. I reluctantly let my better emotions take over and soon enough we were all giggling.
“C’mon, I’ll put Harry Potter on again”, Sian winked.
“Again?” complained Dylan.
“Hey, they made more than one ya know”, Jenna replied.
She was really beginning to grow on us, like she had become part of our family just like that.
There was a repeat of last night in the way that we were all cuddled up on the sofa but Sian and I were a little more comfortable this time; my head was on her shoulder but we still kept our hands underneath the blanket to add some sort of secrecy which made it more thrilling if you like.
I guess the same could be said for the new lovers on the block. I lifted my head which made Sian look over as well as we both smiled at the picture we saw before us; Jenna had her head in the crook of Dylan’s neck as well with her eyes closed. Dil wasn’t far off himself as Sian and I were giggling at his expense as quietly as we could; watching his eyes go droopy, then pop back open slightly then drop again, all the while making manly sleeping noises.
“Well our job is done here”, I whispered up.
“What you on about now?”
“Dil and Jen seem to be getting along just fine don’t ya think?”
“Yea, so? I think you’re getting a bit drowsy babe”, Sian yawned.
“Me? Look who’s yawning here!”
“Sshhh.”
“Make me!”
And just as I had hoped, Sian made her way down to my lips. It was better the second time around because I knew what it was like so I could explore more but my adventure was cut short. Short and slow but exhilarating none the less.
“I could get used to this”, I thought out loud.
“Oh aye? Well don’t get too used to it, you shouldn’t expect it that often”, Sian replied, looking back at the tv but I knew she was suppressing a cheeky grin.
“Why’s that then?”I asked shocked.
“You’re not that lucky Soph”, Sian replied rather smug.
“I’ve got you aint I”, I tried saying back sweetly.
“Ummm who said you’ve got me?”
“You can try acting cool Sian, it’s not gonna work this time, not on me anymore”, I challenged her. She gave me a look which indicated that she had nothing to come back with so I tried my chances and went in for another kiss. Sian reciprocated and leant in too. I could feel her warm breath again, still making my nostrils flick at the contact. I knew she was doing it on purpose but it drove me mad; like she was exhaling just to inhale my own breath, breathing in half way through her mouth and then the other half through her nose to tell me how much it made her heart race and how much I took her breath away, the same she did for mine.
I leaned in even more, not realising that Sian was subtly pulling away until I was practically on top of her.
I looked around at out new position; my arms were used as a stands to hold myself up, my legs were straight still but one was covered by Sian’s going up the length of one as her hands managed to roam under my top and I could feel her trail her fingertips across the bottom of my back which made it dip lower to the blond beauty that was underneath me.
“Soo what now?” I whispered, biting my lip.
“Now you go to sleep on my chest Sophie Webster”, Sian replied back smugly.
“Awh is that all I get?”
“You need to rest Sophie”, Sian smiled at my eagerness. She might call it something else though however.
“I need some T.L.C. Ya know....tender”, I said kissing one side of her cheek. “Lovin’”, kissing below her cheek. “Care”, finally kissing her neck repeatedly.
“Soph...”, Sian breathed out, putting her hands on my head. “We can’t. You can’t”, she continued, looking in my eyes as did I to her. They seemed so full and dark yet glistened from the reflection of the little bit of light we had radiating the room.
“Can’t what?”
“Can’t get carried away.”
“Who said we would get carried away. Wait, Sian, are you talking about....sex here?” I questioned.
“No, no of course not. I know that would never happen while people are round. Especially in the same room”, she giggled.
“Oh good”, I breathed out a laugh. “So can we just....kiss”, I asked sweetly.
“Like I said, I don’t want to get carried away. Once I get my hands on you, there’s no telling how heated it could get”, she bit her lip once more.
“Well if you keep biting your lip like that, you won’t have a choice....”
“Oh aye, you like it when I bit my lip?” she questioned rather smug again, repeating the action; taking her bottom lip in her mouth, letting it go out slowly and flick back into place.
“Fuck you.”
“Now, what have I said about that?” she mocked.
I ignored her and finally resulted into resting my head on her chest and found out that her heart was thudding rather loud.
“What would happen....if we....actually did....ya know, sleep together?” I asked, making sure she knew the proper meaning of the last words.
But just then, we heard a noise from the other side of the room, a cough.
Sian and I burst into a little giggle and finally settled down.
Stay awake Soph, whatever you do, don’t fall asleep. Stay awake, just keep your eyes open and stay awake!
