I'm sorry to hear about Roadies - I didn't know it was cancelled :(
Showtime's President didn't say it was outright but gave every intimation that it was by saying that it didn't catch on with viewers and it's "probably at the end of its run". I'm hanging on to that "probably" but I know it really didn't have the eyes it needed.
I truly enjoyed it - such a great array of seemingly real characters.
I completely agree. They didn't overwrite the characters and make them too broad for film or TV. They were perfectly relatable and human and humane.
I get that these subjects provide "DRAMA" but now it seems like writers are just using these devices to shortcut actual quality writing - ie: how to get that emotional punch without killing some character that's known and cared about. [I'm looking at you Walking Dead... and so interesting that it's so often women or POC, no?]Oh, yeah they follow the news format of "if it bleeds it leads". They want to be shocking and edgy by killing characters instead of servicing

I didn't watch Roadies but I might catch it on the rebound streaming.
And I keep meaning to watch Narco, but I forget about it when I go picking out my marathon TV show to binge on. I will now write it down on my notes, so that I can pull it up when I am in the mood.
I stopped watching UnREal in season 2, it went into a sophomore Water Park beheading slide. I think that Marti Nixon (or Noxon?) left and a lot of the characterization and plotting left with her. They ruined the Head Bitch Quinn on the show, she used to wear such cute shoes while she was kicking ass. In season 2, she just started wearing the regulation Manolo and Jimmy Choos. 4 inch heels don't kick no ass, they just ruin the wearer's feet and character.
I stumbled on RuPaul's Drag Race, yeah, I know, where have I been the last 8 seasons? I really enjoy it. Now I am watching the All Stars Season 2. I am getting makeup tips galore with the fake gals. And yet I still go basic and natural when I wear my makeup once or twice a week. I suppose that I am sort of makeup-

I just saw a headline for a Slate article that it went completely off the rails when she left. One would think that the current showrunners would have learned to emulate her style.
They ruined the Head Bitch Quinn on the show, she used to wear such cute shoes while she was kicking ass. In season 2, she just started wearing the regulation Manolo and Jimmy Choos. 4 inch heels don't kick no ass, they just ruin the wearer's feet and character.
Everyone knows that when you're dealing with vipers in the TV world you need something more hardcore than Manolos or red bottoms.
