X-Men: Days of Future Past
*The return of Scott Summers!!! As a James Marsden fan I’m just happy that he was included, especially considering how his character was dispatched of so casually in “The Last Stand”. This is was rarest of times where a film surprise wasn’t ruined. And Jimmy has an amazing poker face and was able to keep this secret because all the while he was doing press for “Anchorman 2” and for “Walk of Shame” he was asked about DoFP and he didn’t hem or haw or even make slip about being involved; he acted as if it had nothing at all to do with him. As if there had been zero discussion of him being involved. No “We’ll see” or “Who knows” just “I wish them luck.” And it was a beautiful moment even if it meant that Scott was cockblocking Wolverine with Jean. At least Jean is alive and Logan is at peace.
*I’m sure there were Easter eggs that went right over my head but I did catch the Magneto as Quicksilver’s father reference.
*I loved how they at least acknowledged the other mutants from “First Class”as it really does give more weight to why Xavier checked out. Yeah, he might not feel the same sorrow over the death of Emma and Azazel as Erik (which is hilarious because Erik nearly killed Emma in “First Class”), but Angel and Banshee were his first students. Add that to Havok being sent to Vietnam and not knowing his fate. So it was good to see Angel and Azazel even if it were their autopsy photos.
*It’s a good thing I saw this twice because the Stryker end scene really went over my head. I just thought, “Oh, Stryker’s a mutant.”. Leaving the theater the second time a couple was behind me talking about it and the husband pointed out that it was Mystique in the form of Stryker who rescued Wolverine. I nearly stopped to thank him for pointing that out. I just thought, “Beast is right: some futures must happen.” I still think Stryker is he one who gave Wolverine the metal claws but just not in the exact way he did in the other timeline.

~All I said in the other post is true. I love Tom and Hal. LOVE THEM. I love the dimensions of Hal and I think Michael Socha is pretty fit, but I am not watching season five without Lenora Crichlow. I blinked when Aidan left. I swayed a little when Tovey left. Nearly fainted when Sinead left, but I hung in there because at least one of the originals was still on the cast. A season with all newbies? This is where I tap out. I need that connecting thread to the previous seasons and it’s not newbies whose characters are still developing.
I was and wasn’t surprised when Annie moved on. I thought it odd that she was so on the periphery this season, but I just thought it was a case of the writers having fun with their new toys. But before the second to last episode Toby Whithouse gave an interview that someone wasn’t going to survive the season and when Alex died and didn’t move on, I knew it was Annie. The sucky thing is that her passage was so lackluster because she no longer had the relationships so her passing on wasn’t notable. I didn’t like that aspect of it as all. It was just as bad as Nina dying offscreen. So Alex and Hal can do their UST tango next season and Tom but I don’t think I can watch it.

~ “Being Human”? More like “Home Alone”. Aidan Mitchell was staked at the end of S3 and not too long ago Russell Tovey announced he wasn’t returning. Then the bombshell: Nina, Sinead Keenan announced her departure, leaving only Annie (Lenora Crichlow) of the original cast. But don’t fret (or fret, because it’s hard having new cast members) She’ll be joined by S3 guest star Michael Socha as werewolf Tom and new flatmate, the vampire Hal (Damien Molony).
On her Twitter, Sinead stated that she wanted to tell fans sooner but TPTB wouldn’t let her until they had a chance to release an official statement. According to show’s creator Toby Whithouse it was the actors’ decision to leave and that he was shocked that they would leave but never considered stopping the show.
Goodbye Russell

*Another exit from a popular UK show? Karen Gillan is leaving “Dr. Who”.
Yeah, I don’t watch it either.

Episode Description:
The Oct. 21 installment, titled, “Shut Up, Dr. Phil,” Carpenter plays a witch who casts a spell of the very, very bad kind on a small town, upon learning that her hubby (Marsters) cheated on her. Sam and Dean confab with the husband to see if there is some way they can ground this witch before she causes any further damage… and death.

TVLine reports:
SPN has booked "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alums Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters!
he CW’s Supernatural aims to slay you by reuniting Buffyverse alumni Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters - aka Cordelia and Spike - in one of its Season 7 episodes, TVLine has learned exclusively.
What’s more, the two actors, who previously worked together both on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its David Boreanaz-fronted spin-off Angel, will be playing husband and wife on the spooktacular drama, which launches its new cycle on Friday, Sept. 23, at 9/8c. Watch for this glorious genre-gasm to come in the new season’s fifth episode, titled “Shut Up, Dr. Phil.”
“This episode is ‘Bewitched gone wrong,’” reveals showrunner Sera Gamble. “[It was] all upside for this successful man (Marsters) while he was married to the witch (Carpenter), but now that he’s pissed her off, the whole town is paying the price.”
**I Just want to point out we (SV) got Marsters first, SPN!

*Schneider's comments about SV (I forgot which site I read this).
In response to a question about his favorite Smallville memory, John said that it was just a week ago. It was when he was filming one of the final scenes of the series. Schneider said that Jonathan Kent was one of those guys who could help Clark take that next step to becoming Superman. In the scene, in part one of the finale, John described one of the most touching scenes he's ever been involved in. John and Tom Welling had a scene, similar to Uncle Jesse talking to the Duke boys, where he was, "telling him something that I can't tell you," and kissed Tom on the forehead. Tom is as big as John, but there was something in that scene, where Tom swelled up with pride in the fact that his Dad believes in him. John Scneider shared with the audience that he felt that Jonathan Kent was a crowning achievement to his career. He then added, "Good luck, Kevin Costner."
The same person asked if Tom was as good behind the camera, and John said that Tom was a great director. He has gained a lot of experience in ten years on the show and worked well with actors.
In response to another question, John said that he did not see Tom in the Superman suit, but he did get to see the Superman uniform. He got to touch it, and compared the texture to holding an anaconda. The material it is made of is very slick material. It is a very expensive suit and felt very creepy.

John Schneider brings his DILFiness to the upcoming episode "Kent".
Laura Vandervoort and Callum Blue are returning and the big news is that all of Tom's begging and fans threats have payed off. Rosenbaum is returning for the finale. The news spread like syphillis among the "Gossip Girl" cast, making Michael and Lex Luthor a trending topic on Twitter.
Says Brian Petersen: "It feels like the stars are aligning, literally. We couldn't be more excited about having Michael back,"..."And as far as the way he returns … there'll be no doubt about how Lex becomes the great rival in Clark Kent's life. He is the villain of the story."
Says Rosey: "I'm simply doing it for all of the fans out there who made Smallville the great success it is," he said. "I appreciate all of their passion, their relentlessness and even their threats. Ha ha. I can't wait to hug the old crew back in Vancouver one last time and see all of my old friends once again..... Oh, and for Lex to become the badass he's destined to be."
January 23, 2011
It has been announced that Jaren Brandt Bartlett has been cast as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle II, Eric Martsolf as Michael Jon Carter/Booster Gold and Sebastian Spence as Ted Kord/Blue Beetle II in the episode aptly titled "Booster”. The episode is written by Geoff Johns and will be directed by Tom Welling.
With the hiring of Spence I can now get another slot filled on Canadian Actor Bingo card.
But just who is Blue Beetle and Booster Gold?
*Martsolf played Justin Hartley’s brother and Lindsay Hartley’s love interest on “Passions”. They’re still good friends. He was even in the Hartley’s “Brawn and Glamour” webisodes.
I was shocked to find out he’s married because I get a gay vibe/aura/red alert pinging from him.
And not (just) because of this video

In this ep we are dealing with both Jaime Reyes and his Blue Beetle predecessor Ted Kord. While I love Jaime as Beetle (who was voiced marvelously by “Boy Meets World’s Will Friedle in “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”), Booster’s friendship with Ted stands out, making Booster Gold and Blue Beetle one of the top bromances ever IMO.
Even Jaime’s sister thinks so.
Even more than Ollie and Hal Jordan

~ "Abandoned" images featuring Lindsay Hartley as Mad Harriet and Christine Willes as Granny Goodness. I'm not loving The Furies, especially Harriet. Where is the scariness? SV refuses to ugly up people. I don't get it, "Gossip Girl" has ugly people on it ::eyes Ed Westwick::

I keep tearing up each time I read Teri Hatcher’s words about being invited to appear as Lois’ mom.
From her Facebook:
I shot my Smallville part. While I'm sworn to secrecy, I can tell you that it was a blast from the past and it was with love in my heart that I tried to deliver something that served the part, honored the show in it's 10th season, and gave a tip of the hat to all the deserved fans who've supported me all these years. Many thanks. It was lots of fun. Check out this photo from the set. Can you believe it? Ah...Lois. I love Susan but I've missed you:) Stay tuned for info and air dates.
The pic she uploaded
*At the 200th episode party for SV, Lindsay mentioned her character’s name. She’ll be playing Mad Harriet. This is how Harriet looks in the comics.
Please let Lindsay be this vicious!
A picture of my 3 faves: Superman, Justin and Lindsay
*When Alan Ritchson returns, he won’t be alone. His return marks an appearance by Aquaman’s wife, Mera. The role will be played by Elena Satine.
~Another “Dead Like Me” vet is coming to “Smallville”. We had Callum last season, this year we will have Christine Willes who played Dolores Herbig (“as in her big brown eyes”. I loved that line.) on DLM as well as a recurring role on “Reaper”. She has landed the role of Granny Goodness.

*SV S10 is all about the Honey Hookup. Mrs. Justin Hartley, Lindsay will appear in the episode “Abandoned”. Lindsay won’t have any scenes with Justin, but says, Kelly Souders, “have her hands full with Clark," says Souders. "Her character is a woman who takes matters into her own hands, and those hands are wickedly dangerous."
Awkward. Kelly speaks as if it’s a big role, but I wonder if it’ll amount to one scene like Sandra McCoy’s in “Supernatural”. She was on long enough for Sam to shank her.
This is on the heels of Michael Shanks’ wife, Lexa Doig shooting “Harvest”.
In a glorious casting coupe, Teri Hatcher who portrayed Lois Lane in “The New Adventures of Lois & Clark” (as if everyone didn’t know that) will play Lois’ mom!
It’s a beautiful connective thread of the Superman ‘verse as Lesley Ann Warren who screen tested for “Superman: The Movie” for Lois, as well as played Lois in the Superman musical, played Teri’s mom on “Desperate Housewives”.
Another factoid tweeted by Jim Beaver:
Why hasn’t the CW done an image campaign like this?
Teri’s casting comes after the announcement that John Schneider will portray Brian Austin Green’s dad in an upcoming episode of DH.

And I mean everything. You and that Queen fellow, huh?
It's okay who you love, Clark.
As long as it's not Lex.
*Whether it's SV or in the comics, Clark needs his dad.
~They have cast a central figure of the Suicide Squad; Rick Flagg.

~If (like me) you thought Lois getting powers in an episode a'la Lana in "Power", wait until you see the episode in which Lois is possessed by Isis. Okay, let's see---what is one of Isis' abilities?
Super-strength? Flight? Well, I guess that's not too bad--everyone else can fly before Clark so that's no biggie. It's not like they're having Lois recreate Clark scenes.
DAMMIT!

~The New Gods are coming to Smallville. Darkseid’s minions Desaad and Glorious Godfrey have been cast. Steve Byers will portray Desaad
and Michael Daingerfield who is an accomplished voice actor and also appeared in the SV ep “Shattered” and is also credited in the pilot of “Hellcats” will portray Glorious Godfrey.
I’m assuming he’ll wear a wig?
Also returning to Smallville is Michael Ironside (who undoubtedly will be on hand to warn about the upcoming Apokolips) as General Sam Lane and Peyton List as Lucy Lane.
Why are you smiling, Rosey? I hated that episode.
And the big news is that The Magnificent Bastard will show up. John Glover is back! I don't know how, but I can't wait to see it.

~Casting spoilers for “Smallville”
Bradley Stryker and Sahar Biniaz have been cast as Deadpool and Hawkgirl who will appear in the upcoming episode “Shield”. Full details are at
http://www.kryptonsite.com/shayera.htm
I thought you had to be attractive to be on “Smallville”?
*My hope was that it’d be revealed that Stuart Campbell was an alias and that he was really Floyd Lawton/Deadpool because I really like Ryan McDonnell. Yet and still, is it too soon to get wary at the stuntcasting? This is the last season and if we’re having Hawkgirl that means it’s a Hawkman-centric story perhaps him retelling how he lost Shayera. I just don’t want any more time taken away from Clark.

Sources confirm to IGN that John Schneider will reprise his role as Clark's adoptive father on at least two episodes of The CW drama next season. He'll first show up on the September 24 premiere, which will be titled "Lazarus."
He looks hotter nowadays
*Okay, two episodes? I assumed it’d be Jonathan’s “ghost” speaking to Clark or flashbacks. WTF is Jonathan going to do for two episodes. Only thing I can think of is that it’s going to break Clark’s heart.
*RUMOR: Kristin Kreuk to return for Season 10? Reports Fancast. Though Fancast heard from one source that Lana “for sure” will be back for at least part of Season 10, a spokesperson for Kreuk tells us, “I don’t see any ‘Smallville’ in her future…. I’m sure of it.” Similarly, a setsider says there have been zero rumblings about Kreuk and/or Lana returning for the series-ending salvo of episodes.

Supernatural Season Six spoilers
*EW.com's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files, Sons of Anarchy) is returning to Supernatuiral this coming season as Sam and Dean's grandfather, Samuel, and that this time it will be on a recurring basis throughout the season.
Longtime Supernatural writer/executive producer Sera Gamble, who has taken over as showrunner as of Season 6, tells EW, "I'm a longtime fan of Mitch's work. And we all thought he did an amazing job the first time around, so we're excited he was game to [return]."
As for why they decided to bring the character back, she notes, "For one thing, he's a Campbell - from Sam and Dean's mom's side of the family, which, unlike their dad's, has actually been into hunting for a very long time. There's a whole side of Sam and Dean's history that they know nothing about. We'll get to find out a bit about it this season."
Ausiello also reveals Supernatural is casting an actor in his late-30s to mid-40s for a brand new character named Christian, who has "a special relationship to Sam and Dean" and is "capable, calm under pressure, and very good at his job."
And…genre magazine SFX, in its latest issue (#198), is reporting a mini-interview with Eric Kripke, Sera Gamble and the other writers, in which they claim that Crowley will be in a lot of season six (perhaps as the season’s Big Bad?). There’s also talk of bringing back Death the Horseman, the Trickster, and Ellen and Jo (as ghosts). Chuck, however, will apparently not show up, nor will there be any explanation of his mysterious vanishing act at the end of “Swan Song”. Just as well. I’m feeling tortured enough by that “summer” promo with the Chuck voiceover on the CW site.

The return of Maxwell Lord. Gil is looking very Max.
*Frankly, I didn't even notice Cassidy. I was too busy trying to look down Justin's pants.
April 9, 2010
Returning for the finale will be Hawkman, Stargirl, Black Canary and Cyborg.
While I’m always happy at the prospect at seeing this piece of hotness right here,
Lee on the set of the TNT pilot “Rizzoli”
And this lovely woman
And the return of Ollie’s side piece.
You have a condom on you? I wouldn’t want to get the Avian flu.
Why must the season finales now be stuffed with guest stars? Especially when they end up serving no purpose whatsoever. Other than being a nice to see the characters again, what did the S8’s finale have to do with Bart and Dinah? What service did them being there do for that storyline? It’s bad enough they don’t have “supersized” finales and have to wrap the entire season as well as planting seeds for the next season in the finale, but to use that limited time to have people who are not central to the show drives me batty. And I haven’t read the spoiler in depth, just the casting bit (and a hint that someone will die?), but I am assuming Pam Grier and J’onn J’onzz figure into the finale too so that’s just a lot of screentime taken away from Clark.
I was talking about the finale with my coworker and about what conflict will happen to Clark this season. Each year something happens and Clark has to go away and learn and grow and mope a bit. I think this season we won’t see that. I think that maybe it’ll end positively for him where he doesn’t go away to nurse his wounds, but maybe go away to learn from Hawkman or spend the summer helping out the JLA. Or maybe he’ll just stay there and continue doing what he’s doing. That would be a perfect example of how he is now ready to be Superman.

Michael McKean tweeted these pics (along with one of a box of bras)
*Picture from an upcoming episode featuring Gil Bellows as Maxwell Lord
*We’ve had arbitrary DC figures this season, but that’s all going to change with the announcement of someone important in the DCU coming to Smallville. Hold on to your hats, we’re getting FRANKLIN STERN!!!
Yeah, I didn’t know who Franklin Stern was either. But looking it up, it seems that Franklin was a recurring character in “Lois & Clark”,potrayed by James Earl Jones and he takes over the Planet. So welcome Blu Nakuma (that's Blu in the pic). I’ve always loved him and now he’s part of the SV family.

The Silver Banshee as seen in the upcoming "Escape". You know, the episode where the best SV promo in recent history (IMO) is from.
February 23, 2010
Gil Bellows of "Ally McBeal" has been cast as Maxwell Lord to appear in the episode "Charade".
Maxwell Lord was an amoral - though ultimately heroic - businessman who ran the Justice League for several years before betraying the DC heroes in the lead up to "Infinite Crisis." (dawnybee: IIRC I read that he's a Black Lantern now).
Lord has previously appeared in the "Justice League Unlimited" animated series as a lackey to Amanda Waller and Cadmus - as opposed to Lord's role as the head of Checkmate in his later comic book incarnation. Lord's role in "Smallville" is currently unknown; although he is rumored to be affiliated with Checkmate and Waller (as portrayed by Pam Grier).
*I wonder which incarnation they're going to use. I'm assuming it's the Maxwell-Before-Wonder-Woman-Snapped-His-Neck-Killing-Him-Lord.
And Good on SV for casting people beyond their thirties.
January 27, 2010
The Silver Banshee is coming to SV for no reason whatsoever. Odessa Rae will play Siobhan McDougal, aka the Silver Banshee, in Episode 16, "Escape."
Pam Grier tweeted from the SV set again.
*Michael Shanks who plays Hawkman in the Smallville “Absolute Justice” event comes to Supernatural , but as who? Sadly not another bringer of the herpes to Sam, but a man named Rob, who is part of a local militia. Rob comes with a wife and son, but after a loss will devote himself solely to a cause.
Mark Sheppard tweeted that he’s returning to SPN as Crowley (and returning to “Leverage” as Sterling in this week’s episode)
January 20, 2010
Okay, we have returning to Smallville Serinda Swan, he of the trashy tats, Brian Austin Green, new guests Pam Grier and Michael Shanks, the extremely special return of Annette O’Toole and now she’s bringing her husband along for the ride. Michael McKean is returning as Perry White.
Writes Mike Ausiello, We’re thrilled to have Michael back on the show,” says Peterson, “and to be able to link it with the anticipated return of Martha Kent is just a phenomenal way to gear up to the end of the season.”
Peterson also reveals that the iconic character’s latest trip through Smallville will bring him “closer to his destiny” than ever before, adding, “We finally get to see the legendary introduction between Perry White and the intrepid Lois Lane.”
O'Toole and McKean will appear in episode 21. My gut feeling is that this is being done in case the show doesn't get renewed and they can film alternate endings to tie up the show by finally having some sort of closure for fans by seeing Clark and his mom reunite and perhaps by having Tess sell the Planet to Perry which will tie in perfectly to canon.
Who knows? I just know I'm thrilled.

*Images from “Absolute Justice”.
It’s not what it seems Clark, we’re just fighting. Yeah, fighting. Put your shirt back on, Hawkman!
*Carlo Marks has been cast as Warrior Angel. Reports Michael Ausiello
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has revealed that Carlo Marks has been cast to play Steven Swift, also known as "Warrior Angel." And yes, this is Chloe's new love interest. Mark's previously appeared as Chloe's fiance in the alternate-reality episode "Apocalypse" back in Season 7.
*Another person returning is Brian Austin Green. Again, from Ausiello:
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Brian Austin Green will reprise
his role as the kryptonite-powered villain in this season’s 18th episode, scheduled to air in the spring.
Green debuted as journo John Corben (a.k.a. Metallo) in Smallville’s season premiere back on Sept. 25. He was killed off the following week when he accidentally ripped his mechanical heart out of his chest. Hey, it happens.
Get that family time in before you have to head back to Vancouver, BAG
*And just because PAM GRIER. Amanda Waller will have never looked finer.

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello and KryptonSite report that actor Steve Bacic has been cast as the Dark Archer. The character he's playing is going to be the mentor to the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), teaching him skills in archery. Hm, it sure looks like Oliver's all ready for some major storylines this season.
Before he meets the Dark Archer though, Oliver is going to run into a bunch of females who will have a huge impact on his character. I'm not going to spoil that much, but we pretty much know how he'll meet Roulette on the next episode. Following that, we're going to be introduced to yet another blur - this time it's a woman with the alias Speedy.
But after all those other characters, there's going to be Steve Bacic on the episode "Disciple," the tenth installment of this season. Oliver supposedly knows the Dark Archer from way back, as part of a Celtic cult of assassins.
As for speculation on the Dark Archer, fans have linked him to the comic books' Merlyn the Archer (dawnybee: I'm sure this character is Merlyn the way that Dean Cain's Curtis Knox was Vandal Savage). He's usually seen clad in black, and is a troublemaker for Oliver, but we haven't quite identified his moral inclinations on Smallville.
*JSA Cast.
According to IGN, Hawkman will be portrayed by Michael Shanks-best known for his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson on “Stargate SG1”-while Brent Stait will wear the golden helmet of Doctor Fate. Stait has also appeared on “Stargate SG1” and “Stargate Atlantis.”
Fancast is also reporting that actress Britt Irvin (“Aliens in America”) has been cast as Stargirl. Additional members of the Justice Society are also expected to appear in the episode when it airs in January.
Also appearing in an upcoming episode is Cat Grant. Cast in the role is "Sanctuary"s Emilie Ullerup.
Wednesday, August 26th
The role of Roulette for the SV episode of the same name has been cast. It’s actress Steph Song.
Steph hinted in a tweet that she was filming an appearance on the show. Of course that spurred people to follow her on Twitter to which she tweeted:
But soon the jig was up!
*Roulette as she appears in the comics.
Veronica Sinclair (aka Roulette) is a total badass who runs a casino catering to meta-humans and has even created a fight club type scenario where she once kidnapped the Justice Society of America and made them fight each other. I hope she gets to fight with Tess. And by fight I mean grope.
Her abilities are the near superhuman ability to count cards, analyze body posture and gestures and predict an opponent's moves.

Brian Austin Green as John "Metallo" Corben
From TV Guide:
He was killed by a robotic assassin in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles last spring, and now Brian Austin Green is coming back to TV as a different kind of cyborg. In a two-episode arc on Smallville (beginning with the September 25 season premiere), Green plays John Corben, a new Daily Planet reporter who becomes the comic-book villain Metallo. In the aftermath of an accident, Corben is mysteriously outfitted with a heart made of kryptonite. Executive producer Kelly Souders won’t reveal the identity of his Frankenstein-esque savoir, but says Corben is turned into “a rough version of Metallo, a first attempt at the technology, and eventually he’ll get sleeker.” So might we see him again? “Well of course-it’s Smallville,” she says with a laugh. “We’re actually throwing some ideas around right now in the hopes that we might be able to bring him back for another episode.”
*Smallville doesn’t have a problem with bringing characters back again, they stumble in the execution of it. The return of Pete? The returning of Alicia only to kill her? The same for Raya. Have we seen Mxyzptlk again?
So far this season we’re going to have Metallo, the Wonder Twins, the JSA, now Roulette and Alia is supposedly a composite for Talia al Ghul (not sure if that’s true or not). I’m repeating myself about the lack of using the already established characters for the show so I’ll just say I am oppose to this “Love Boat” style of casting for S9 and leave it at that.
Friday, August 14th
According to K-Site the Wonder Twins have been activated in the form of David Gallagher, Simon Camden of "7th Heaven" and someone named Allison Scagliotti, who I've never heard of but SV casting always does a bang up job so she should be good.
*I hate to even think this, but I’m getting tired of clown car cavalcade of DC characters. Each of those episodes are essentially standalones which are potentially never revisited. For every Bart, Flash and Cyborg there has been Maxima, Mxyptlk, Acrata (Andrea Rojas of “Vengeance”), characters who will never be heard from again and didn’t have any lasting effect. It’s a kick to see DC characters now and again, but last season they opened the vault and they seem to misplaced the keys. The Wonder Twins they show will be using I’m sure will not be the ones I remember from Superfriends. They’ll probably do more than turn into mops and buckets of water or ice or whatever the hell, but I’m really interested in this character named Clark Kent and I want him to not be a spectator in these procedures, I want him to be active in this. There have been so many great characters already that Clark have made relationships with---can’t we just have more Detective John Jones or Cyborg (since Lee won’t be in the revised “Scrubs”) or Rokk to help propel Clark along?
I wouldn’t mind seeing a gorilla on the show though. I would like that very much.
*So Brian saw all the fan handwringing/seppuku going on and had to clarify his statement. I’m fine with seeing Clark go through dark times-he’s had plenty already so it’s not a new occurrence, but I wouldn’t mind to see him happy for more than a scene an episode. I doubt SV would ever get dark like guy burned in acid and half his face gets burned away or maniacal clown with stiletto knives, but I find it tiresome that Clark doesn’t get to do friend things with friends. Just once why can’t we have Clark and Oliver playing ultimate frisbee? I’ve met guys like Ollie and they fcuking dig ultimate frisbee. I’m easy, that’s all I ask for. Let him have this journey that tries him because I know that he comes out on the other side of this stronger for it, but just one time…ultimate frisbee. Or a dinner party with Chloe, Oliver and Lois.
Oldies
*Adrienne Palicki is returning for an episode. Details regarding Palicki's return engagement are being kept under lock and key, but this much I can tell you: She's booked for one episode and it'll air early in the season (but not the season premiere).
Adrienne is also going to appear in the ridiculous reboot of “Red Dawn”. The film will also star Josh Peck and Chris Hemsworth who played dead George Kirk in “Star Trek” .
*Brian Austin Green as Metallo, huh? He was in cahoots with Gorilla Grood at one point. Dammit, there has to be a gorilla on SV sooner or later! I demand it. Just find a really hairy actor and BAM-that’s their Gorilla Grood.
One article detailing the casting said that it “is arguably one of the show’s best gets.” I’m going to argue that it’s not. I crept my way into liking Brian Austin Green thanks to “The Sarah Conner Chronicles”. Derek Reese was a great character, Brian was excellent in the role, he has great trashy tats, loves “Green Lantern” and he performed on “Soul Train”-what’s not to love? But the show’s best gets IMO were: Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Marc McClure, Dean Cain, the voicework of Terence Stamp and Helen Slater. All people connected to the Superman mythos.
It makes sense since Brian is getting a career resurgence due to a genre show (other SV big genre guest stars being Lynda Carter, Carrie Fisher, Peter Wingfield and James Marsters) and Brian Austin Green is a’ight, but is this really a big deal casting? I’m thinking the CW is trying to angle for him to do a guest stint on “90210” which is why they’re trying to keep him close. Rumor was that he was to do a guest stint “One Tree Hill” but he passed after seeing negative feedback. So…I’m really happy that he’ll do this role-Clark needs a roughneck side piece with gnarly tattoos that make Amy Winehouse say, “Really, dude??”, but David Silver a “best get”? Maybe it’s Souders and Peterson’s idea to get a “90210” reunion on “Smallville”. First Tori Spelling, next Brian, could Nate from the “Peach Pit” be far off? Instead of Lifehouse, One Republic and All American Rejects performing on the show they could get “Color Me Badd” and Shanice.
Also, this? Callum Blue as Zod? OH YES!
http://www.airlockalpha.com/node/6468 If Sam Witwer did decline S9 (and I think he did) I applaud him because you put your money where your mouth his. He's walking away from a gig that is unsatisfying for him and I'd rather him do that then to take the money and whine and undermine the writers.
