This day should be commemorated with the thoughts of those who have come before.

Their oldest daughter is such a mini me. She looks like a pre-teen version of her Mama!

Dead-on like Michelle. And just a tad shorter. Once she hit that growth spurt, people are going to do double takes.

I can't get over the adorableness of Malia and Sasha. Cutest White House kids ever y/n?

y/y.

They're so cute in every way! I can't help but smile looking at them. And they let them be kids too. That's what I really love.

Doesn't it look like he was clinging for dear life?! I don't know if it was just gratitude that now he can finally just do his own thing without worrying about people throwing shoes at him or what.

The Nation cover brought tears to my eyes, especially the inclusion of the four little girls.

The First Family look so elegant - love the yellow dress and the chic coats on the girls.

It's really a powerful creation. It gives me goosebumps. I can't help but feel all of their presence on this day.

The girls are just precious fashion plates. They're so dang cute!

Everyone looked adorable, but when I saw that picture of the littlest Obama girl with the orange scarf, I thought that it was a life preserver vest like the ones that people wore from that US Airways flight that landed in the Hudson.

"Is she going for a swim in the Reflecting Pool?" I thought. "It's too cold for that. Oh, it's a neck scarf!"

Funny, the things that one thinks about when one doesn't have to watch an event in DC and fume about State Torturers.

Sasha (or maybe she's Malia.I have to learn which is which) looks like the mischeivous lilee pixie enough to try to "play" in the reflecting pool. She seems like the adventurous type.

I'm still thinking about how Cheney should go to a prison like "Oz" and have O'Reilly put glass in his food. But that's just me.
