Ashes to ashes and chocolate for Lent

Feb 10, 2016 20:14

There is no reason to go crazy during Lent. I do not give up chocolate. I usually try to give money to charity and spread more kindness, as well as reading the Bible more frequently.

Lol--on Scorpion, they'll say--"We have twenty minutes before the bomb explodes. Toby, run to the market and buy oil. Happy, weld together a metal cage! Cabe, grab that wire--" And all I can think about is, how could he possibly run to the market, grab the oil, stand in line to pay for it and run back? Plus, is it possible to weld a cage in less than twenty minutes... It is a wonder they're not giggling all the time. I'd like to see a blooper reel.

I'm beginning to think I am too logical!

You look sweet and happy!
I don't know about Lent. So I'm not gonna worry about not having chocolates. 😊

No worries about Lent unless you celebrate Easter. ;-)

I didn't know you were a Bujold fan too! She's my favorite living author. If you read my journal you'd see I just finished reading Gentleman Jole too! I liked it quite a bit, with a few reservations.

I was surprised that you weren't on my mutual friends list 'cause I thought you were...Hmm. Anyway, yes, I have read most of her work ever since a friend started me on the Vorkosigan sagas years ago and I read the first 4 books in a really short period of time. I love me some Miles.

I've been a for a long, long time, and also love Miles. And all her characters, really. Have you read her fantasy books too?

Oh, yes. I think I read all four of The Sharing Knife books in a couple weeks! I saw you mentioned rereading The War for the Oaks by Emma Bull on one post. Another of my all time fave authors and books.
