Lining the side of the bank are a collection of little stone statues, resembling these here. [Those floating thought bubbles are enough to attract Ratatosk's attention, and he leans over the bridge with a smirk to see just who they're coming from. Once he spots their source and what he's up to, that smirk just grows even wider.]

Those ugly things aren't going to make anyone come back. If I were them, I'd stay away just to avoid having to look at those.

[The voice - somewhat familiar, he's certain he's seen it before - makes Simon pause, glancing up to see Ratatosk peering over the edge of the bridge. He watches the other boy for a long moment, eyes narrowing, then turns back to his work, slowly turning his drill as it carves into the stone of his latest figure.]

Too bad, 'cause I don't feel like it.

[And to emphasize that, he'll hop over the side of the bridge and down onto the bank to get a better look.]

[Simon grits his teeth briefly, but does his very best to ignore Ratatosk's existence. Don't feed the troll, don't feed the troll...]

[Svala glances in his direction as she passes by, then backtracks upon seeing his thoughts and coming up to his side to peer down at his work.]

Those are quite good.

[Blink blink. Oh, hello there, nice lady.]

Um... thank you. They're not that good, though.

Perhaps. [Svala descends down the hill from the path and pauses to take off her shoes.]

But I do not think precision is always a technique required in great art.

You think... it's art, even if it looks like this?

[Hello, slightly intrusive bubble. Simon's going to politely ignore that.]

...Yeah. They're not in the way, are they?

Ah... thank you. [Well, that was nice of him.] They're not much, though.

[dawndigger]

[Simon's focused on his work, the goggles making it difficult to notice anyone else around. He's carving out a new statue now- another figure of Kamina, this time more of his body rather than just a bust, making a fierce pose.]

[Simon pauses, looking up and lifting the goggles. Oh, he recognizes you.] You think so...?

[Anise isn't affected, so when she sees those bubbles over Simon's head, she very curiously comes over to see what they say. But once she comes closer, it's the figures that grab her attention - especially since there's one that looks rather familiar among them.]

Hey, that one looks like the Colonel!

[Surprised Simon is surprised!] Oh, Anise... yeah, I didn't want to leave him out of it.
