I have been putting off writing this entry because I was honestly exhausted by the whole situation. Going back to work, everyone wanted to console me about it, which is thoughtful but means I had to have the same conversation as I'm about to type here about twenty times, plus people wanting updates while he was sick. Our dogs' lives are never long enough...At least you had Lancelot (from what you indicated in earlier entries) longer than is usual for Golden Retrievers...if that's any consolation. The time with our dogs always goes by so fast. My dog is nearly 13; I'm trying to prepare myself for the inevitable, and each time I do, I end up telling him to give me at least another good year or two...

Thank you for sharing Lance with us, and your wonderful love for him. My heart aches with you. My Pippin is about to turn 12, and I absolutely can't believe how quickly her time with us has flown. I hope you can feel my tight hug.
