The American Short-Haired Felagund (and Other Life[tm] Updates)

Those of you who have met me in Real Lifetm and remember when my hair was down to my bum--it is no longer. It was so dry and damaged that it was actually losing length; it had shortened from bum-length to reaching the small of my back without any effort from me. The ends were so split that, whenever I'd brush it, my hair would break off. Ugh. Since ( Read more... )

Ack, my sympathies with the hair situation. I still have nightmares about the time when mine was cut to just below shoulder length! Now I can only look at people funny when they suggest longer hair is such a burden to take care of and so uncomfortable compared with shorter hair. :P (But I got a bit of a cut a couple of weeks ago to get rid of dead ends and hair seems to grow back faster than I thought, if that's any consolation...)

The paragraph about washing clothes in the bathtub is making me think I'll see an agitator in my bathtub next time I'm in the bathroom!

If you want to continue trying to wash clothes the old way, I recommend a garbage can and toilet plunger. I used to have to do my laundry this way over one summer and it works quite well, you get good agitation going, and it's easier on your body than the tub. Having a second garbage can allows you to move from one can to another easily and since you use a plunger, you can use your outside hose for your water source.

Good luck with your freshmen and with the insurance adjuster!

Your hair will grow back. I could never grow mine long as it is curly and grows sideways, but when it was longer Mum used to trim it every month to get rid of the split ends.
You could try giving it a treatment of organic coconut oil every week, as there are people who swear it makes the hair grow faster, and certainly conditions it beautifully.

Your hair will grow back. :)

I'm jealous about the festival, simply because it's at Monticello. We went there once when we lived in VA, and I've wanted to go back ever since.

Continuing good wishes for the basement!

Hair! A continual source of problems! At least for me. Now I'm wearing it shoulder length because the hair-I don't know what you call these guys- stylist? cut it too short for practical purposes. It will grow :(

IEP: I was going to ask you whether anybody cared to read them but then I read that you had IEP meetings. Good luck.

Also good luck with the basement (the smell, well, smells familiar *yuck*)
