I am dead-tired today. I've had one too many days of shaving off a half-hour or hour of sleep and thinking that it won't matter. By the afternoon, my motor control was beginning to decline. I crashed my hip--not the bad one, fortunately--into the doorframe trying to walk into Johnny's office. Luckily, we both found it amusing

You are a sick person. Really, I'm going to have to go worship a porcelain god now. (J/k about the latter). I still think prettie's hair looks funny in that pic! :P
I figured out that it's because the angle of the picture and the way the hair is parted looks exactly like a picture of my friend...who is a girl. :P
Speaking thereof, I apologized to your Nelyo in some post of mine earlier. I thought you should like to pass it along. Hehe.
Oh! And I took a picture of "something cheerful" but I can't upload it because my camera and my computer had a fight and now they won't speak to each other. :(

No, I tend to clunk into things too when well awake. But this time, I miss the door by a good three inches! Ai!
I figured out that it's because the angle of the picture and the way the hair is parted looks exactly like a picture of my friend...who is a girl. :PEep, yes, that would do it! :^P See, for me, the picture works because the eyes and facial structure are pretty much exactly right. It's hard for me to find Elves that fit what I see in my head. I don't like my Elves overly masculine, like the Fabio-types that some prefer. They need to be slender and of a more delicate bone structure...yet they can't look like women either. Male Elves that look like girls probably irk me more than the Fabio-types. The best Elves I'd found until Rhapsody made these icons tended to be cartoonish, like the Nelyo in Aramal's "Magnificent Seven" icon ( ... )

Ohhh...Well, I get nice bruises from running into tables.

And go go go Bobby!!!!
But the issue is far more complicated than I'd realized before, and the two sides that I find tugging at my loyalties kind of simplify it too much, I am realizing. But that is why I am doing this research; because I was tired of taking other people's word for it and wanted to have my own informed opinion.
I know it isn't that easy as it sounds. It is pretty difficult to explain even to someone who even doesn't wanna touch the Silm because it's so difficuly :( I send you an e-mail with the stuff I wanted to say at the other comment, but I am a bit pressed for time currently.
So far, it's been a lot of fun to read how a particular idea evolved over the course of many years.
Lovely isnt it? Keep that in mind :) Well I know you do.
The lovely Nelyo icon that Rhapsody made me is officially my little research gofer. He's now the official mascot of Dawn's research posts for this project.

I know it isn't that easy as it sounds. It is pretty difficult to explain even to someone who even doesn't wanna touch the Silm because it's so difficuly :(It is. I think that some of that has to do with mortal beings (i.e., us) trying to understand immortality, as well as the conundrum of immortal beings that can nonetheless "die." It's rather out there, so it's hard to understand. Never mind that Tolkien changed his mind a half-dozen times on the subject! (Per usual, some might say. :^P ( ... )
