Like Cats and Dogs

Over the course of the few months that they had known each other, Esca had come to think of Marcus as the equivalent of an over-sized puppy. Maybe that was putting things a little too simply, but it was hard not to draw the parallels. His dopey grin, his lopsided gait, the way he secretly liked to have his belly scratched, it was all too much. ( Read more... )

I burst out laughing when I got to the Esca as cat moment - until then I hadn't quite cottoned on to where you were going with it, but you're right, it kind of fits.

Nice.

And yes, if you like requests the sunday service and the kink meme are full of them.

Oh my, thank you for taking the time to say that! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

I just can't help but see Marcus as a big puppy and relating Esca to moody kitten came soon after. :P The thought of the two of them secretly thinking of each other as such was just too much and I HAD to write about it. ^^

I will have to stop by and see if anything catches my interest. :)

AAHH! This is so adorable! What a perfect way for them to describe one another. :)

And I love the image of Esca stretching. Yum.

Fics with gratuitous fluff have always been my favorite, so adorable is quite the compliment for me. ;)

They really are just too alike cuddly pets that way aren't they? ^^

Oooh, it is pleasant is it not? :D When I first decided I was gonna do this, that was the first thing I KNEW had to be in the fic. ^^

Glad to see we have the same priorities where Esca is concerned. :)

Just to let you know, I still feel a bit like you do about the other writers here, but it seems silly you for you feel like that! Obviously people like what you wrote, so we all look forward to seeing lots more from you. :D

(and check out the Sunday Services, it'll distract the Reverends from my own little orphan I haven't finished yet!)

Haha, I just started posting my writing about a year ago even though I've been doing it for at least three. :P I think I'm just starting to really settle in and get the swing of things. ^^ Reactions such as these certainly help secure my footing.

I didn't grab anything at the Sunday Services, but a prompt over at the eagle kink did catch my eye and I've already set in on it. :P

This is soooo adorable!

And this,
made Esca feel like maybe, just maybe his life could be good again.

made me tear up a little a lot. ♥

I hope you write more in this fandom!

Oh my, O///O You flatterer, you.

I'm unbelievably happy that you enjoyed it so!

My headcanon for Esca in this story still has him losing his family, and Marcus being the first person he's really taken to since then, because he's just so irresistibly sunny, y'know? And I just wanted to keep that little bit of edge to him for that reason. :P

I definitely will have to get right on it! You have all been so kind that I'm eager to give right back. :)

I definitely have a weakness for the tragic backstory idea.. especially when Marcus is the one bringing happiness back into Esca's life (or vice versa). <3

Also, I SEE YOU THERE KIRK ICON. I SEE YOU. :D

Mwahahahaha! I'll see your Kirk and raise you another! >:D

I just can't help but see Marcus as a caretaker in any verse and I'm always a big sucker for h/c fics. :P Esca losing his family and Marcus having his leg injury just seem like such an integral part of who they are that I can never leave it out- no matter the situation I put them in.

This was absolute bliss! And once you mentioned it, I could certainly see the parallels to dogs and cats. (My cat Macduff does the "aloof one minute, sidling up to you the next" thing just like Esca. And Marcus truly remind me of a big, bouncy, feed-me-and-I'll-love-you dog.) This was sweet and humorous and charming and sexy.

And each refraining from saying anything to the other...that was so charming!

I may print this out and carry it around with me, to cheer me up when the old RL schedule gets to hectic and horrible.

Thanks so much for posting!

OH MY!!! O////O Honey, best be careful there- your silver tongue nearly gave me a heart attack. :P

Really though, thank you SO much. You have no idea how much good this does my heart. I was having a pretty bad day today and came home to this and you completely made me melt into a puddle of smileys. :D

Honestly, I hadn't thought this story would garner any attention, and its popularity totally floored me. ^^

Thank YOU for being such a delightful reader. If you'd like I'm quite interested in writing you something to express my thanks. Lemme know. :)
