DS just scored an Emmy nomination for best supporting actor in a movie or miniatures in Hemingway and Gellhorn, so I guess that would count as a "hit." :)

Lesson: DS is fantastic in period pieces?

I'm not sure I can really imagine Good Night, and Good Luck in colour - whether it would be as good as it actually is; but I think that, shot in black and white, it looks very stylish. And probably this really does contribute to the "sense of the period". I wouldn't say it was merely a grab for attention; rather, it's an integral part of the movie ( ... )
