Stress

Lot of school work to do, which I think is causing a persistent tinnitus again.

The worst part is that this bout is completely different than previous ones; it's so high I can't tell if it's a C# or G#. At least three years ago it was a slightly lower (but still very high-pitched) F#.

How can you tell it's sharp if you can't tell what note it is? I'm very curious!

I used an A 440 tuning fork to figure out the pitch twice during the night.

The first time it was a C#, but the second time it sounded like a G#. It was also very, very high, somewhere around the 14kHz range, near the "mosquito" teenager deterrent frequencies. (I can only hear up to about 15kHz now; I'm getting so old).

Since those tones are a fifth apart, there's a chance I'm hearing some sort of overtone too.
