Being a station wagon, it is a very mom type of car.
Back when my mother in-law owned and operated it, my future wife (this was during her high school years, a good 6+ years before I ever met her) and her friends referred to it as the mothership. This was in large part due to the tinted windows it had then (since removed), and its smooth, sleek shape (at least for the time.)
I really do like the the movie Sneakers. Dan Akroyd plays a character nick-named "Mother," which usually gets the response of "don't ask; it's a long story." . . . sort of like this.
Generally speaking, the car's taken pretty good care of me, like a mother should.
