One night in Canada and I already feel that I understand the ways of this country just as little as America. In many ways it's more familiar - they use modern concepts like the metric system and healthcare, and the Queen is on the money (which has amazing see-through plastic windows - no wonder they're happier). And no, I'd agree that Quebec is very..... architecture-ey! This was the major stop for trading with europe in the new world (rather than the "having a go of it with whatever's handy" approach that people had to take further west), so there's definitely a lot more old architecture to speak of, most of which is more european.

This is sounding like a lovely trip :) I've actually never seen Quebec City myself!

Ah... no matter how I spelled it it looked wrong! I was thinking that it can't possibly be that simple, it's French, there was probably an X in it somewhere...
