I realise on second-glance that it's a skull-and-crossbones pirate flag design, but good grief, when I took the first look at the aerial view and saw this glowing-eyed half-formed skeletal thing staring back at me, I jumped. I guess we've discovered where the things that creep me out lie - in the gap between the time I see something and the time it takes me to work out what it is. :P

On the other hand, getting to play in a giant maze of corn sounds like amazing fun, and my inner child is quite jealous you have something like this near you! :P

Ah, I jump like that whenever there's an unexpected face as well - sorry! It's meant to be a skull and crossbones - they have a pirate theme this year, as you can see from the slightly unconvincing Jack Sparrow costume on the front page.

I was very impressed with it, though - it was huge, and there's another similar one in about the same distance in the other direction from us!

Clearly, it took you so long to get out because you forgot the Warp Wire Ariadne Thread. That should be the number-one priority on your list of preparations for next time, of course, unless someone in your party knows To Market (in which case they are automatically the most valuable and useful member of said party.)

Well, while I'm not sure about To Market specifically, Whitney has always seemed to be able to home in on a shoe shop within a distance of a hundred miles.

If my last experience in a hedge maze taught me anything, it's this: Make sure you've got plenty of flash-bangs. The things you run into there may be nasty and lethal, but one of those'll wipe a whole cluster them out no problem.

(Did I mention said experience was Resident Evil 4?)

I do remember that being a slightly traumatic part of it - I just knew when I came out of that doorway into the garden that that maze wasn't going to just be for decoration...!

That was an excellent game :)

Isn;t one of the maze survival tips to keep your left hand on the left wall and just keep on walking?

You can! It may take hours, but as long as the maze doesn't have any "islands" of isolated walls unconnected to any others, then that would take you to every point on the maze and so you would eventually find the way out.

Which this one does ... in alarming quantities....

Yes, you're right, actually. Also pictured at the bottom of the aerial view page: the last visitor who tried that and didn't have a map.
