I was sent to the emergency room at a nearby hospital after my appointment at the doctor yesterday. I was phenomenally frightened at the idea, not only because my only experience of the inside of hospitals has been things like this - but it wasn't for anything life-threatening. My doctor just thought that it would be better for me to be properly

It's terrible that you should have to go through all this over a bad bit of sushi (or not, as it may be). I thought that you must have still been dealing with your illness/infection, but I didn't realise that it was serious enough for a hospital trip, even if only for observation.

For future retellings of this anecdote I would blame the sushi, but only as long as you're willing to risk death by ninja in revenge for ruining the Japanese food business somewhat.
