It's been great fun reading along with you as you shared these adventures. Probably less than 1/100th the fun you were having, but fun nonetheless.

Hooray for a great mission, David! I have SO enjoyed your posts and photos. (Insert another nudge for a PDF journal here)

What a wonderful life experience. And - maybe you'll end up becoming an astronaut? Is that what I read there? Hm?

You should be very proud, it sounds like you're leaving the Hab in better shape than you found it (not that it was in bad shape, but that's just the Outdoors Mantra, that I like: Leave it in better shape than you found it in.) And I can't imagine why no one had produced the one-page checklists/guides like you did. That will be a GREAT benefit to those who come after you!

Barring some weird time-hopping causation effects, Glenn wasn't helped in becoming an astronaut by being in the Senate. Daresay it did help get him into space again later.

Maybe the one to cite is Barfin’ Jake Garn?

I like the image of the two of you Marsonauts chewing the fat as you wield your makeshift boot brushes--I believe sitting on a pair of overturned buckets would be traditional.
