We went to the Pequot museum when we were ther Thanksgiving. It is a great museum. The kids loved it too. I think we ate at the Seaman's Inn too. Is that the one right in/next to Mystic Seaport? Mystic Seaport was great too. I so want to go back. It was cold when we were there so we couldn't explore too much but what we saw was great!

Yes, The Seaman's Inn is right next to Mystic Seaport. I first visited and enjoyed the seaport as a kid; when yours are a bit older they'll get more out of it.

They do pretty well at Living History places. They enjoyed the Whaling boats, the gardens (always love gardens) and the cooking. We definitely plan on going back a bunch.

Shoshana also grew up in CT. Unfortunately many New Yorkers overlook CT as a place one passes through on the way to other parts of New England. Is G's reluctance related to his feelings about his in-laws? Do you have other friends with whom you can do CT things?

G has a point; when living in the world's greatest city there is less of a need to leave. But for really good hiking one does have to travel beyond the 5 boroughs.
