Here's
a podcast of David doing Celebrity Playlist with Sheryl Stewart on radio station 105.1 The Buzz -- very nice, not too much repetition from past interviews, and a bunch of fun new tidbits, also a lot on his musical tastes and influences.
The three albums he mentioned learning guitar on were:
Dookie by Green Day
Color and the Shape by Foo Fighters
Clumsy by Our Lady Peace
The songs they played were:
Everlong (acoustic) by Foo Fighters
When I Come Around by Green Day
Dare You To Move by Switchfoot
Stop and Stare by One Republic
TOML (yay magic rainbow)
Other songs he mentioned as favorites that they didn't have time to play:
Dizzy by Jimmy Eat World
Pretty Handsome Awkward by the Used
Yellow Brick Road by Raine Maida
I put together
an iMix of the songs if anyone else wants 'em conveniently packaged. :)
Other nice tidbits from the podcast: when asked what he'd put on his tour rider, he said bread, peanut butter, case of water; on the SSB he said it was the coolest thing he'd ever had the chance to do and hoped he never had to do it again. *g* I also liked re: DYTM where he talked about learning a lesson on the show from Innocent and Dare You To Move in terms of how it often doesn't work to cut a song down to 1:30 -- you really do get the sense he was actively trying to learn the whole way through, and has the right kind of distance to evaluate his own work. I cannot wait for his album, yo. :/
If anyone heard it live, were there any other songs played that they didn't mention in the podcast?
