I will keep my fingers crossed that your daughter gets good news from the doctor - hopefully the shot has had time to work so she won't have to go to the hospital. I feel so bad for her - it's tough to be stuck at home sick when everyone else is in school going about their normal routines.
Thanks all around, Jen. Yeah, I think her spirits are pretty low at this point. I know that mine are for her. And I'm trying to keep from getting frustrated with little stuff -- like the fact that I'm not getting much work done these days. Not her fault, of course. But I need to do a better job of keeping my mood up for her sake.
That's one of the hardest things for me when my kids are sick. I get so worried about them, and frustrated that medicines can't work immediately. Even though I know I need to stay cheerful, it's a struggle not to let the stress show.
Good luck. Hang in there - hopefully she's turned the corner now. You'll be able to look back and go, "Remember that winter you had pneumonia..." and then you'll smile because it's turned into a family story. :)
She does seem to have turned a corner this evening. [knocks wood] Drugs finally kicking in -- she finally has the right drugs, which certainly helps. We'll see.
Thanks, Alis. She's actually doing better tonight than she has in some time. Drugs finally kicking in, I think. And, yeah, I was happy with the numbers. I'd been sweating this one, for some reason. Probably because it's the first book of the trilogy.
