My younger daughter is playing volleyball for her middle school.  I used to play volleyball when I was in high school.  And so I was delighted when she asked me to go to the gym with her and hit a ball around.  I still remember how to bump and set, serve and spike.  I actually hit the ball pretty well.  And we had a great time together ( Read more... )

Well, I'd laugh at you David if that hadn't happened to
each and every one of us at some point...where we attempt to try an activity that we haven't tried in years...and ended up crawling around in pain for a week. And, it doesn't really matter our age. I recall playing football with a group from the office in my early 20's and barely being able to walk for a week...or body surfing on Pensecola Beach and peeling...for a week...

Hopefully your lesson was less painful than mine... :-)

It's really okay to laugh anyway. I was laughing at myself. But the pain didn't last too long, and I'm ready to go back to the gym again this weekend and work with her some more. Thanks for the comment and the sympathy!
