Spring is Here!

Spring has come at last to the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee.  The past two mornings I've taken my camera and hiked down into what's known as Shakerag Hollow where wildflowers are already blooming.  Bloodroot, Hepatica, Spring Beauty, Dutchman's Britches, Rue Anemone, Celandine Poppy, Trout Lily, and several kinds of trillium (although most of ( Read more... )

Thanks, Lizzie. Yes, I miss New England springs. They're slower than Southern ones -- they last longer. The fall is just the opposite. I remember New England falls giving way to winter far too quickly. Southern falls last forever....

I was into photography as a kid, lost interest for a while, and then got back into it big time about six years ago. I show work in a local gallery, have had a couple of pics published, and actually make a bit of money from my photos each year. And yes, when I'm not torturing characters or parenting (torturing?) my children, this is what I do.
