Today's selection of music focuses on ome territory ,that of Minnesota. Allof them havw featured in Wire mag except for Soul Asylum and Semisonic. Low is still the best of the bunch IMHO.
This is one of my favorite Hüsker Dü songs. This is from around 85-86 when they became more melodic and poppy. There are lots of images of Minneapolis in the video, and they end the song by doing the theme song to the Mary Tyler Moore Show from the 1970s which was set in Minneapolis (kind of an inside joke). When I saw that they were doing Love is All Around, I thought, "Cool! They're covering The Troggs! I love that song!" But it wasn't that Love is All Around.
A bit of trivia. Of the three guys in Hüsker Dü, two of them were gay. The one with the handlebar moustache is the straight one. :)

Hüsker Dü do a great version of The Byrds' Eight Miles High:
I should add, Prince and The Replacements were also from Minnesota.
I saw Low with The Dirty Three in Boston in the late 90s. It was a good show.
