One of the major bands from the UK trip scene is Portishead - here is a full live concert from them in 1997/ Beth Gibbons on vocals of course. Some documentary elements to it as well and a short jazz piano spot.

I love Portishead. haven't listened to them much in recent years but they were one of my favorites for a long time.

Dummy is a real highlight but i would check out the album she did with Rustin Man.

I still remember listening to 107.7 The End the day they made a big deal about how they were going to play something new and exiting. I waited until 4pm to hear this new band they were raving about. It was Portishead. 15-year-old me loved it. As soon as the album was for sell in the States I begged and pestered my dad to buy me it. We were in the shop and my dad was like, "What is this music I'm buying for my daughter?" to the sales clerk. The clerk said, "Don't worry. It's mellow." Which set my dad off my dad into a big rant about how he isn't some old foggie that can't handle some wild music. "I like Bob Dylan!" He added to prove his point. At least he did buy me the CD. I still have it.

Those first two albums they did are totally awesome. have both still and they have not aged.

I got inspired. I dug up my old CD. It's not too skippy. At least not yet.

Great band IMHO. My brother's wife comes from Bristol, a suburb called Shirehamton Portishead, the town, is south of the Avon whereas Shirehampton is on the north.
