Last month I complained to my doc about forgetfulness I’m having, and when I talked about falling asleep at my desk, he suggested a sleep study to rule out Apnea. An appointment was set up in January at the Trillium Centre over by Sherway.

Glad to see you've endured the level 1 Somnulence Diagnostic. I had to undergo it several years back. Their results said that I did not have apnea, even though I continued to wake on occasion with heart pounding and lungs about to explode. They also said that while I was there the longest I slept continuously was about 3 hours - more than enough time for them to get good readings. Like you I awoke continuously though the night. Let's see - could have had something to do with it being a strange room that flt more like a classroom than a bedroom, no headboard, 23 wires attached to my body leading to a walkman-like device I had to be aware of whenever I moved, a TV camera watching me and a microphone hanging 2 feet above my head. Oh yeah - this is relaxing. I should sleep like a baby!

Well, this looks about as horribly uncomfortable and creepy as it no doubt was.

DinosaurKing did this as well and was diagnosed with apnea. He sleeps with an oxygen mask now, which, I imagine, is about as romantic and sexy as sleeping next to someone in a coma. Ick. Although heavy-duty rattle the windows snoring isn't romantic either.

I hope they manage to figure out what ails you and fix it without a lot of complication or discomfort.

Sleep is one of life's luxuries.
