If you happen to enjoy documentaries about poor parts of the world I have found this documentary about liberia to be fairly interesting. At the moment I believe only 3 of the 8 parts are out yet.

I do go through a great many documentaries on topics I know little about and would like at least a bit of surface information on. I'll see if I can't load these up tomorrow morning.

I don't think there's anything special about the kid at all, unless you count whatever mental defect has left him unable to see the consequences of his actions. The fact that he's been able to elude police for so long says less about his skills than it does about how hard it is to find someone in the woods who doesn't want to be found.

Ever watch the show 'Mantracker'? The hero is a guy trained in tracking humans in the bush, with years of experience in search-and-rescue. Every episode, he has to locate two people before they can reach a finish line about 30km away. And even though he's trained and they're not, a surprising number of people succeed.

The fact that anyone at all sees this kid as a hero, or glorifies what he's done (including the media) really raises my disappointment in the human race.
