Just as a random question - has anyone ever heard of the writer George Moore? Clues: Irish, late nineteenth or early twentieth centuries, specialised in short stories, and was once described as a doubly decadent version of Oscar Wilde. The name rings a bell, but I couldn't have told you more than that - and I like to think I'm quite good on obscure historical figures nobody else has ever heard of"!

As other people have said - the name rings a bell, but I very much doubt I have ever read anything he wrote. And if I did, I don't remember doing so...

The name seems vaguely familiar, but then it's one of those names, isn't it? It's entirely possible he features in Mum's rather large and somewhat random collection of books. The Irish connection makes it all the more possible.
