Being a die-hard fan doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to criticize your team. If they play a shitty game, it'd be dumb not to admit it. If they make a bad trade, you don't have to love the new player, etc.
I think Ottawa fans got the bandwagon rep because most of us didn't pay much attention to the team until they first made the playoffs around 96. That's fair, I mean we all had our teams (Leafs, Habs, etc.) before the Sens came around, and they had to prove themselves before we switched over.
I think the real test of die-hard vs. bandwagon fans will be the fall after the next season where they don't make the playoffs. At this rate, it's going to be a few years, but that's when you'll sort out the men from the boys, so to speak.
