Interesting stuff. Still a good idea to wear a hat in cold weather of course, regardless of how much heat is or isn't lost through exposure ;)

Best things to deal with affects of alcohol are drink in moderation, not at all, OR drink enough water to compensate at least for dehydration (noticed that wasn't mentioned in the list). Worked for some folks I've known over the years. One in particular used to keep a pitcher or very large glass of water by his bedside so he could drink some whenever he woke up during the night (which of course only works if you know you're the type to wake up in the middle of the night). Still, it isn't a cure, it's a preventative.

For the suicides the article doesn't say which holiday period or if they studied all major holiday periods. Still, interesting.
