Day Sixteen - Where Now?

Summary: Tonks apparates in and is greeted by Hammer who is initially going to hit on her until she weirds him out with her presto chango hair.  So instead he takes her to the town hall where she checks in with Ice.  Timeline discrepancies notwithstanding, she's pretty

Hammer had been roaming. He didn't get that whole maze business, so he hadn't bothered with that. Disinclined to hang around the dorms, and thinking that this was the kind of day where girls sunbathed on the beach - scantily-clad girls at that - he thought it would be the best place to go.

But ... pink hair and fully dressed? Not his usual. Not even close.

Still ... he could do the polite and cordial thing. "Afternoon," he called as he swaggered cockily toward the pink-haired woman. "New here?"

So what if he'd seen her just then pop into existence? It was a polite question to ask.

Tonks looked over. And then she looked up. And then she looked up a little more. There sure was a lot of this bloke with the American accent. Huh. Beaches and barbarians was it then?

"Yes?" she hazarded, hands on her hips, "Might be, anyways. I've never been here before, so I guess that's about the same as being new."

Her hair turned an interesting shade of blue as she spoke, and she tilted her head as she regarded him.

His reply was momentarily delayed as he watched her hair turn color, brow furrowing. "What?"

He caught himself. "Oh, er, right. Well, you're in DauphinMare. I'm sure that's why you've never been here before. Because you haven't ... been here before."

He thought that was a pretty good explanation, and he beamed to her. "You can call me Captain Hammer."

She raised an eyebrow. Alright, so not exactly the brightest bulb in the socket.

"Right," she said, "Well in that case, you can call me Princess Sparkles."

Grinning a little, she slipped her wand from her sleeve and twirled it a little between two fingers.

"DauphinMare," she continued, "So ... that's not in London then?"
