Summary: Jacob finally calms down enough to be allowed in to see a waking Bella. He and Edward tiff a little, but Jacob is put off by Edward's lack of fighting back. When Bella wakes up,

Edward smelled him before he even saw him, and he knew this wouldn't go well. Especially given the turmoil the wolf's mind had roiling about in it. Keeping his own relative displeasure firmly tamped down, he glanced to Jacob.

"I didn't want it like this," he offered, though he knew the wolf wouldn't care.

"But you wanted it eventually," he reminded him. How it had come about was, as far as he was concerned, irrelevant. He gazed down to Bella, his changed Bella, before fixing dark eyes on Edward.

"Did you do it?"

"No," he admitted quietly, "I was still putting it off when Chaos hit. One of my siblings ... couldn't control themselves that day."

He didn't want to talk about the circumstances of Bella's changing, not really. Jacob would ask, and he'd answer, but he didn't want to discuss it. This wasn't how he'd planned.

"Couldn't ... control themselves," Jacob repeated slowly, anger building. He knew he was about to fursplode, and he fought down the desire to change. Completely silent for half a minute, he waited until he had enough composure to speak.

"You let it happen," he finally managed.
