"Is there any particular reason you're staring at my door?" Chase inquired as he strode down the hall. He didn't know this guy, and he was already letting the power rise a little - just in case.

For all he knew, the guy was someone from Riverfell making a surprise visit - or someone who was sniffing around Pepper. He had enough of that at the moment.

Quinn's gaze shifted from the door to rest on Chase, his guard already up, fingers wrapping around a blade as the man approached. There was no danger yet, but something about the man's tone and stride was disconcerting and he'd take no chances.

"Just getting a lay of the land," he replied, "I was staring at that door a moment ago."

He gestured to Caleb's door, in the direction in which he'd come. Of course, Caleb's door had only had one name on it. He'd solved the sharing rooms mystery, it would seem.

He glanced to the other door in question, and Chase's eyes narrowed a little bit more. He'd been looking at Caleb's door ... and then at his door. And he'd admitted that.

"Any particular reason why?" he asked suspiciously. He wasn't looking for a fight, not exactly ... but he'd sure as hell pick one up if it seemed like a good idea. Or probable.

He could practically feel the aggression rolling off this one, and Quinn thought he probably ought to play it safe. Ought to being the operative word here. He'd see how it went.

"I'm new, yeah?" he said, vaguely snarky, "And I like to familiarize myself with where everything is. So that means your door, and Caleb's door, and Lily's door and so on and so forth. I've seen the lounge and the cafeteria, the potions lab, the medlab, et cetera. I hardly see why your personal door ought to be exempt."

He thought very absently that perhaps attitude was not what was needed here, but he was being challenged, and insofar as hierarchy went back home, he was used to talking down those who would challenge him.
