Tris was kind of doing the patrolling thing, and kind of just wandering aimlessly around, killing time until he and Remus could race through the woods on four paws each.

With his thoughts in that direction, his grin was sillier than usual, and his energy level was up a bit, even for him.

Trying to avoid the forest - more or less, since he'd likely just stay there - he was headed to the beach.

He paused when he saw someone he didn't recognize there, and he slipped his wand surreptitiously out of a sleeve as he approached her slowly, his guard well up. "All right?" he called out to her. His wand was aimed down, but it was out in plain sight.

Dahlia spotted the boy holding what she could only assume was a branch somewhat menacingly, and quirked an eyebrow. Perhaps the natives lived like kings, but that apparently didn't stop them from being touched in the head the same as anyone who spent too long a time on the open plain without a soul to talk to.

"All right," she agreed, her strange inflections echoing the traces of an archaic language long lost even amongst her people, "Though I do wonder what you're planning to do with that branch, boy."

Her sword sat securely in the sheath strapped to her back, obscured by her cloak until she had need of it. She didn't withdraw it though; that would have been the folly of one less seasoned than she. For all she knew, this was a harmless boy-child at play, though he seemed older. In her experience, males were hardly a threat, and only around for the sake of keeping the tribe alive.

He couldn't help the grin, what with the branch joke that had gone on between him and Remus yesterday. "It isn't a branch, it's a wand." He thought about pointing out he wasn't a boy, but ... he wasn't going to argue semantics with the stranger. Technically, he still was a boy.

"Who're you?" he asked, wondering if he should try to catch someone he knew's attention. He glanced around quickly, but didn't see anyone. Well, all right. He could stupefy and body bind if it came to that, and ... bring some help around.

If he had to.

"Dahlia Lecherent," she shared, and offered him a small smile that didn't even nearly reach her eyes, "It would appear that I have been summoned here." She withdrew the sheaf of paper from where it had been stowed in her cloak and her gaze swept over the words before returning to him. "It says I should go to the town hall," she added.

Regarding him, her gaze swept quizzically to the wand. Curious, she though, very curious.
