In re the actor: his name is Sebastian Spence, I've also seen him on Andromeda, Dark Angel, and BSG. He was apparently also the lead in a sci-fi series called First Wave a few years back. I never saw it, but I did see the small parts he had in the other series.

Weird. I've never watched any of those but I have seen him somewhere before. I'll have to troll IMDB later and figure out what.

Nobody's mentioned this yet (or at least not in what I've read so far), but he was also in Dawson's Creek. I know this cause I was obsessed w/ the show when it was on (and still kinda am). He played Jack and Jen's gay Pop Culture professor in season 6.
